Wow, this had some GREAT tips! I especially appreciated the note about the font and the sticky stabilizer. I only have a one needle machine, but I can't wait to try some cotton webbing. Thanks!

Great Video, I love the tip on slowing the machine down, that definitely makes sense and I will do that. Also I have just purchased some fast frames and looks like I am ready to try embroidering a dog collar. Thank you very much.

very informative vid!!! thanks! I am trying to embroider on nylon webbing. speed down to 480, needle 11, so mess. some many jumps of top threads, then trying to lose the bobbin, tighten the top line, doesnt work well either. how frustrated.... however, on cotton webbing, works well. ....is there any other things I need to change?

My machine has tension dials- no numbers or anything for tension. You will get some gaps though- it’s never going to be as pretty as it is on something not as thick.

Great video. Can you still do this on a computerized portable machine? I have a singer 9960 my mom gave me. I'm into the tactical stuff you were talking about and would like to try to make a few velcro name tags.

I would think it would be worth a try!! I have a single needle portable machine and I think it could probably handle it. Maybe depends on the thickness of the material?

@@1922project Thanks! I'd prob just go with the milspec 17337 webbing since it's thinner. It'll be backed by velcro too so it doesn't need to be real sturdy. I'd be cool to see a video on the tactical belts you mentioned. I'm interested in making one but not sure my home machines could handle it.

@@charlieghague I probably won't be doing any videos on the tactical stuff simply because it's not my business and I'm not exactly sure what all they would want shown. However, I'm totally willing to answer any questions you have! Your domestic machine should definitely be able to handle webbing+velcro. Just make sure to use a thicker needle (ones labeled Jeans work fine). If you increase the thickness at all- like adding two layers of webbing or adding in scuba webbing, you'll need an industrial machine. I currently have a Juki 1541 but have also had a Juki 1181...both work very well for webbing! Hope that helps!

@@1922project Thanks for another reply. I've come to realize my machines aren't going to work. My computerized machine only does line embroidery and doesn't create the thick lettering I want. You can get custom name tapes on Amazon or Etsy for cheap so I'm just gonna do that. And ya, unfortunately, I do want to use Scuba webbing. The webbing I usually use is the same stuff for MOLLE/PALS attachment. I can sew that stuff all day but something as thick as a dog leash or scuba webbing isn't going to work. I just need to save up for a machine that does what I want. They're just so pricey! Thanks again! Might have some questions in future. Also, out of curiosity, who do you make the belts for? I need another one and would like to check them out.
