    I propose a new term (I read it in Children of Dune): Onieronauts are explorers of dreams, only implying lucidity. Onieromamcy is the practice of control in lucid dreams. I thought it sounded cool ❤

    Today I had a dream where I was trying to figure out why I can’t have lucid dreams without realising I’m in a dream… This happened to me for second time, but at first I got lucid because I was looking around me and saw a really weird looking creature and immediately realised it was a dream. The second time, tonight, well, I didn’t think about it much. I think I don’t do enough reality tests. I need to fix that. Anyways this was really helpful, I’ll follow these tips. Thank you for this great video!

Just wondering a bit more on glucose 1: where can I find pure glucose? 2: why has it never been shared online? 3: if I take a pure glucose pill, and my brain has a lot of energy, how does that connect to lucid dreaming? (I did have a lucid dream one night when I drank apple juice, but I dont really understand how, I did watch the whole video if your wondering, I just think I need some more explanation) I’m sure there are very good reasons and I’m just not really understanding what the answers are, thank you again!

    For awhile my spirits, alters, were talking to me in our dreams, we couldn't remember when we woke up what we were talking about, but we remember feeling like they are comforting us and soothing us lately. Past couple nights slept in partners bed with them because we had been getting harrassed online for being autistic again and wanted to be close to them. The dream of yesterday we were sleeping fitfully and had a bit of a nightmare where we burned a random girls house down and had to live with her and her puppies in a tent, we don't know why we destroyed her home or why that made us also homeless in the dream weird, tonight was less fitful sleep, dreamt an older gay man on a spaceship got found out that he stole someones coat, as punishment for stealing a coat the man was boiled in pink frosting until he died by the ship crew and then his ghost haunted a Barby and made the Barby evil. Our partner recently got us a new dream journal since we'd used up all our other journals. We thought that was very thoughtful. 💜

    Hey, nice to see someone new. It's not quite that black and white, gaming definitely influences dreaming - but the evidence is limited as to if that's a positive or negative influence. Mostly it boils down to if you're able to remember to reality test during gaming sessions.

    Have you read Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and Namkhai Norbu books on lucid dream?

  • @LucidDreamPortal

    @LucidDreamPortal

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, I've read and own every book that's been published on lucid dreaming since 1867 (by legitimate sources) plus their original source material etc. (Not boasting, just it's part of the job description in this field to know your sources). (And some very very obscure texts too) I find the Bon and Tibetan Buddhist approach to lucid dreaming to be a little too embedded in its religious system for my tastes, and many of the concepts are really nothing more than quite basic practices but entangled in the belief systems of the authors. The connection to lucid dreaming found in the source materials they draw from (the religious scriptures), is somewhat more tenuous and often exaggerated than many modern authors admit. Fascinating, but really mostly only of interest from a cultural and religious standpoint, and not hugely useful in terms of practical lucid dream training. Not to diminish these beliefs at all, but often people attribute "hidden secrets" to older texts, especially from other cultures when, in my opinion, that's often just Westerner's projecting a romanticised view. Absolutely worth studying for those who want a well rounded perspective, just it's wise to remember that it's mostly concepts you're already familiar with, just embedded into a religious philosophy.

These dreams happened on weekend days (when I have more time to sleep) the problem is that those dreams I woke up as soon as I realized I was dreaming and started to spinning, two of them I manage to reenter and again realized but I woke up. i think it could be because I was already sleeping for a long time probably 7-8+ (hours) so less rem. I'm trying to check if I'm dreaming every time I walk through a doorway, since I go through those a lot in dreams. The trouble is that I usually build a good habit of testing for a few days, then suddenly one morning I start forgetting completely. It's only when I'm forgetful and don't notice that I'm going anywhere that I actually remember any dreams at all in a night, and I'm wondering what might be causing this. I've been dream journaling since even before I started using it for lucidity, and could only remember one dream every few months when I wasn't thinking about them a lot.

    Is it safe to take the glucose? wouldnt it raise blood pressure?

    I'm not a medical professional and any information I share in these regards should not be considered as such, but it's my understanding that glucose doesn't directly influence blood pressure in the same way that foods high in sodium do. However, prolonged high blood sugar levels and associated conditions can have an indirect impact on blood pressure over time. As with any dietary suggestions online, it's always worth discussing changes in diet with your physician.

    how is not having a glucose starved brain helping with becoming lucid exactly? And what does a hungry brain do in REM and why does it hinder getting lucid. Personally when i get hungry in waking life i do get distracted and emotional faster and kinda get the urge to do nothing until im not hungry anymore so im assuming its the same in REM and thus a hungry brain just has no energy to consider if its dreaming. Something like that?

    This paper fleshes out the basis of this concept: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7305087/ These might be an easier read if you're not familiar with scientific papers: www.eufic.org/en/whats-in-food/article/glucose-and-mental-performance www.bps.org.uk/psychologist/sweet-memories

    Effort also needs to be balanced with the right tools. Someone could try for years to hammer in a nail with a sponge, and never succeed, how ever hard they try - as the tool is wrong. Be careful you're following legitimate advice, as there is an awful lot of nonsense out there. Also, two months is very very early days. So don't panic
