Very thorough! Thank you very much. I was able to lube both my clutch and throttle cables watching this. I had trouble reinstalling the plastic piece the houses the throttle cable. On my 2007 Ninja 250 there wasn't enough space so I had to remove the brake lever. It was only one bolt and screw. Afterwards, everything just fit in place without any frustration. Your video is a little long, may I suggest adding a table of contents in the video description so we can jump to the section we need? Thanks for your help!

Thanks lbrtdy! It's really difficult to fit the housing halves together on my bike too because of the brake lever. I did not intend this video to be so long. It just ended up that way. I have been meaning to put a table of contents in the descriptions of all my videos, just haven't got around to it. I'll try to do that now.

one question. I noticed that when the choke lever was reassembled no lithium grease was applied to the cable nipple in the handlebar unit, was there a reason why?. Again really appreciate these tutorials.

You're right. I probably should have applied grease to the barrel at the end of the cable. But I've never had a problem with the choke cable sticking. The choke cable is not used even a tenth as much as the other cables and doesn't need as much maintenance or lubrication. Usually injecting cable lube between the sheath and cable is enough, but it probably would be best to put some grease at the end of the cable though, possibly in the switch housing also.

Great Video! Hey, do you have the pictures of the routing diagram? Or if you have the service manual in pdf could you send it to me?

Thanks for the positive feedback! I don't mean to be a stickler, but I'd prefer not to violate copyrights in a public forum like this. I know the service manual is unreasonably expensive, like $80 to $100, but it is offered as a pdf. If you want to send me a pic of a routing, I can verify that it is correct. I would definitely recommend the pdf instead of the paperback because it's easier to carry around on your phone or tablet than carrying the book everywhere. The Clymer Manual is only $30 but I don't believe that it has routing diagrams. I'll try to remember to check tomorrow (it's in my garage).

The Clymer Manual does not have hose routing diagrams. I don't think it has cable routing diagrams either.

Is it necessary to pull the fairings and all the other stuff out of the way? Im not saying isnt at all its a genuine question. When i lube my clutch I just pull the cable from the lever, attach the luber and lube it and put it back on.

You can probably lubricate the clutch cables and grease the ends of the clutch cable without taking off the fairings, but I don't think that it's possible to grease the ends of the throttle cables and the choke cable without removing the fairings. Most mechanics probably don't even bother to grease the cable ends, so it's up to you. Sometimes it's hard to get enough slack in the choke cable to reinstall it, and you unfortunately have to remove the gas tank to adjust the lower end of the cable.

@@Zerocyxone9 Oh. I bought mine at Cycle Gear, a chain of motorcycle apparel stores. You can probably get one at a motorcycle dealership also, and I'm sure Amazon has them. www.amazon.com/Tusk-Cable-Lube-Kit/dp/B0039O2OAI/ref=psdc_404655011_t4_B009YEYL0I
