I'm glad you mentioned Adapalene. I'm 61, and at the beginning of the Covid lock-down I challenged myself to finally deal with my life-long acne, and sun-damaged and now aging skin. Adapalene was part of that, both for the acne and the fine lines and wrinkles. I broke the rules and started using it on my neck a couple of times a week and now I can tell that my turkey waddle neck has firmed up and looks years younger.

Huge love to you and your grandmother! You speak about dementia in a hugely respectful and compassionate way. My grandfather passed away a couple of years ago and he lived with dementia for over 10 years, and from my mid-teens to mid-twenties I contributed to his care. Especially when I was younger I would struggle with my peers being disrespectful or having poor understanding of our experience so to hear someone talk about this in a caring way warmed my heart. You sound like a wonderful granddaughter.

I loved that she spoke so openly about it with knowledge and love. I can totally relate (from my own life) to the things you have been through with your Grandfather and other people's ignorance of what truly happens when people have dementia. I've had my Grandmother pass away when I was 15-16 years old after about 5 years of Alzheimer's. Now I'm the only family member that is capable and willing to be part of my 81-year-old Father's (who has dementia) evening routine/caregiver. Even in an assisted living facility, the lack of caring if the patients are okay is unconscionable! 🙏's to you and your family. Total respect for your comments and views on these topics. It seems there are fewer and fewer people these days that feel any obligation to family and the elders, but you were lucky to be raised with a good and moral heart! Wish you the best

I am replacing med spa procedures with at-home devices. I collected various devices like Nuface, Foreo, Myolift, Nuskin, Lyma, Facegym, etc. But so far my faves are medicube ones. I always look into the research conducted by the company and just general papers, human application tests. The Medicube's EMS device is fantastically brings the Electric Muscle Stimulation (EMS) tech to the facial device. EMS has already been commonly used in medical areas such as rehabilitation. The principal is different but I feel like the results (after using it 4months) are almost similar to Ultherapy. The second one Deep Shot is actually more similar to this. I always felt my money wasn't worth it when the practitioner was not well trained. Although it costs up to $2,400, the results were vary depending on the practitioner's skill. These at-home devices, however, can easily be used at home and expect almost same results in a long term with consistency. I love Cassandra reviewed this! Thinking my decision was right :)

The first section that mentioned the bubble head device is what got rid of my double chin. I liked it so much I ordered a 2nd one. Using it incorrectly to make it look like you are just moving the head up & down is incorrect. There are 3 springs included , each one used to advance to the next level of resistance with two different exercises to use. It a may be too simple for what Cassandra is going for but It worked to tighten up my chin. It just may take awhile to see it in the mirror, just keep at it.

Note from a physiotherapist - Actually... That movement - anteflexion of head and neck targets scalenni, sternocleidomastoid and deep neck flexors. Trapezius acts as extensor of the neck, Elevates scapulas, does laterflexion with fixated scapulas. I can imagine platysma being activated there as well, but nothing major. So this part of information was in fact incorrect in the video..

I am 58 and have severe DDD and do a set of exercises similar to what is done using your Grandma's device, to strengthen my neck, helping me to maintain proper curvature in my c-spine and prevent hump neck. The exercises help immensely. The jury is out as to whether or not these exercises have affected/improved my skin tone. However, I do find that using LED Red Light therapy, microcurrent, and Retin-A, has made a difference in improving the skin tone & texture of my face and neck.

Love your videos! I'm a new subscriber of yours. I was pleasantly surprised to hear you speaking about your Grandmother with the compassion that seems lost in today's society! I am in a similar situation with my 81-year-old Father. When I was about 12 my Grandmother developed Alzheimer's and over the next 5 years, my Aunt took care of her for as long as she could. She was becoming elderly herself. Needless to say, my Grandmother passed at the age of 85 or 86. My Father had started showing signs of some mental atrophy or brain deterioration about a year before Covid trapped everyone inside their homes. Over those 2 years or so my brother and I were unaware of how progressive his condition had become. Fast-forward to today and my poor stepmother, who had COPD when all this started, then got Covid, now is on oxygen 100% of the time. She's at home alone and my Father is in an assisted living facility. She's had a fall that thankfully only cracked her hip instead of breaking it. I don't think surgery would have been an option with her lungs. It's terrible to see the sadness in their eyes when she can visit but then has to leave. So I've taken over the evening visits every night to make sure he's going to bed clean and dry on the bottom. Also to put his glaucoma drops in his eyes. These facilities have such a high turnover rate, they can't manage to hire anyone that seems to care if anyone gets the medications or help they may need. So I'm the daily person that he knows will be there every day. Even when it's not easy, like when he's had UTI's that, as I'm sure you know can make any elderly person go (totally out of it). It is and will continue to be my honor to be with him every evening and make sure he's got anything he wants. It's the least I can do for all the years he spent raising me (I was not a "walk in the park" kind of daughter). I appreciate your honesty about your Grandmother and speaking so candidly about the process! You just got all the respect I have to give. I hope you have many more lovely days with your Grandmother. And 🙏's for you and your family! ❤️❤️❤️ P.S. your videos are great too!!! 😉 💯

I do love your videos, Cassandra. I learn a lot about skin and skin care from you. And I love how you’re intention is always to educate and tell the truth. I’m an exercise physiologist. So I know something about skeletal muscles and just want to say this: Pushing your chin down, lowering your head against resistance, toward your chest, does work the muscles in the front of the neck and depending on the angle, can also activate the muscles in the chest. Muscles draw bones toward each other. So, lifting your chin up activates the muscles in the upper back, back of the neck, and up. I appreciate you and your reviews of skincare, office procedures, and home devices. Have a wonderful day and thank you.

Hello Cassandra! I love how compassionate and thoughtful you speak and educate about aging and neurological disorders. I am a similar age to yourself and have started to really research skin care and ways to age gracefully as I now move into my 30's along with my health limitations. I have a neurological condition called dystonia that affects the muscle movement in my face and throat and do not want anything to make that worse or cause more pain; however I do want to preserve my skins texture as I age. I have used these types of EMS devices in the past and wondered why I was in so much pain, and they did not seem to work for me. The experience left me feeling slightly defeated and inadequate to say the least. Thank you for educating not only myself but others that just because a product works well does not mean it is for every person. There are always other options though regardless of your status ( as I have learned now binge watching your videos) and it is so refreshing to see how considerate you are to think of those who may have a difference of ability. In fact, I am off now to buy the Australian gold sunscreen you recommended in a previous video; although I cannot use these machines, you have taught me that I can still take this small step for my skin care and self. Please keep on educating us all and breaking down all of the boundaries ( and BS) of a sometimes intimidating skin care market and routine. Skin care is for everyone! Have a great day! From your forever subscriber 🐱Nicole,

My grandmother had Alzheimer’s and was in a nursing home for almost 10 years before she passed in 2017. I would take my grandfather to see her several times a week in the last 5 years of her life and me and my daughters would do things for her like paint her nails and I would lightly massage her face/hands with Cerave moisturizing cream while my grandfather would feed her snacks. He just recently passed in February at the age of 95 and I miss them both dearly! It’s nice to hear you’re taking care of your grandmother, Cassandra! I'd like to suggest moisturizer and retinol, I accidentally tightened my neck too much by using it 😂I have a burn scar contracture there and meant to prepare the skin for surgery, but I continued using it for 2 months instead of 2 weeks and my neck is uncomfortably tight. It would probably work well for people with normal skin though! I used whatever moisturizer I had around and Inkey List retinol

Personally, I think moisturizers with urea and retinol/retinal creams are the safest bet for otc treatments for smoothing the neck's skin. I first saw good results with Simple's moisturizers (both light and rich has urea in the ingredient list) and then with La Roche Posay redermic r cream and The Ordinary retinol 0.5% in squalane.

Hi, Cassandra! I'm going to presume this isn't used on the front of the neck. I have an awful turkey neck. I'm sure it also comes with very good instructions. If you use it on the front of your neck would it help? and also could it affect your thyroid gland? I never had a skin care 'program' until I found you. (I'm 68.) It's hasn't become a real habit but I am getting better. My husband passed 17 years ago and what little I was doing then, which was really only cleansing and moisturizers, I gave up. My skin is starting to look better and a few wrinkles are not so noticeable. Thank you SO much for sharing this great gift of yours!

None of the microcurrent devices are for the front of the neck over the thyroid. You most likely need a facelift. However, Pretty Over Fifty used a cream on her neck that was amazing. Not tight skin but tighter and she's had no surgery. I may buy it myself soon. Any improvement is good.

Actually a physical therapist told me you can strengthen your neck by doing chin tucks. It’s different than the device you have from the informercials lol but you pull your own head back kind of like you’re giving yourself a double chin or like you’re surprised 😯. It mainly strengthens the back of the neck, the muscles around the spine. But anywho 😅

I really try to get my mom to wear sunscreen and/or retinol because I saw a difference after 2 years of consistent use, but she is just not interested and actually thinks sunscreen is harmful because she has better skin than those who used sunscreen and spent tons of money on treatments in their youth. Yes her skin is that blessed. For someone who didn't protect herself from the sun and only occasionally moisturize and did after sun care, she really has good skin. Honestly, she probably won't be convinced to use these devices. On one hand, it means she is that secure in how she looks, but on the other it means she doesn't fully understand that taking care of her looks would probably help her get a job.
