Love your work. The “foil” type vinyl possibly peeled off bc it’s a cold peel. Once you pressed it again it was treated as a hot peel. When layering I’ve learned to cut closer to the design to prevent the lines across the other vinyl from the carrier/transfer sheet 😊.

It still looks beautiful! ❤ I see what happened. The metal portion was cold peel and the red color was hot peel. You’ll have to cut the outer clear layer closer to the design to keep this from happening.

I think it would probably be best not to mix hot peel and cold peel on the same design.

Thank you for reaching us how to make our own stacked fonts. Thanks again Katrina for mentioning Techwrap Craft’s puff vinyl. Mine comes out wrinkly. I even pre-press my surface to help remove the moisture and it still comes out wrinkly🤦🏾‍♀️ Katrina, maybe to reduce/eliminate the possibility of your metal HTV peeling or getting creased, you could possibly trim the transfer paper for the outline glitter layer and the puff layers down as close as possible to the design.

I’m a Virgo love the shirt ❤. I wasn’t watching every step. Because I was sublimating a bag. So I was curious what happened,too. I know one time I was layering, I had some plastic over lapping my vinyl and it stuck to plastic and not the shirt. I’m not sure if I am explaining it correctly for you to understand what I am saying 😂 But shirt still looks good.

Since the metal section cold peels, you can wait until the glitter cools down, glitter can be cold peeled, it is just smooth, and best to hot peel. I have not had any problems with glitter cold peeling when necessary.

I think that happen cause that piece you pulled hit peel n the plastic was ion top of the metal one and when you pulled theorther one in hot peel the metal one lines up cause it peels cool 😮 I 🤔 think

Will the silver on the glitter be and issue or the black outline when it’s washed because I thought you couldn’t layer specialty vinyl? Just curious. It’s not too much of an overlap.

I love the pastel colors the best but both looked really nice. I’m thinking your metal image came up during layering because it was a cold peel. You heated that vinyl back up and you peeled part of the design with your hot peel. Just my guess. Thanks for sharing.

I struggle with puff vinyl, have tried different temps,times and pressure. Your wine puff looks smoother than the turquoise. Did you use different settings?? I like both shirts. Does puff react differently on hoodies??

Katrina, I love the puff vinyl, bought me some myself. I am struggling with selling it though because I don’t understand how to care for it. How do you keep the puff on the shirt after it is made. It can’t be ironed because it flattens but I iron my clothes.

Don’t wash until after 24 hours. Wash cold or warm water and iron around it inside out.

Do you do the lane 7 because it is a heavier design you are using and that shirt is heavier?

I always have that problem with foils or metallic. I have to cut around the extra pieces of film to make sure it’s not touching anything else. Maybe that vinyl has to be done last when layering?

Mixing hot and cold peel defiantly cause issues. Your carrier sheet should have been trimmed tighter, and then you rushed to peel the metal when it needed to cool. Great project though.

I don’t remember the actual name of the color I used I would have to go digging though all my orders. Sorry but when you go to the link and look under the glitter colors they have different shades of pinks and blues. I went with mermaid type colors

I really love them both. Also, I think the texture of the first puff is correct. I think it’s 3D textured. It’s really nice. Do you think the metal HTV should have been placed at the very top and bottom to prevent the carrier from being heat pressed onto it? Other than the mishap, I love it!!!
