I actually am someone who cuts my own hair. I was always dissatisfied with the work done at salons I went to so I decided to just do it myself. I ended up liking it better than the work done at salons so I kept at it and I use these videos to improve.

First of all, thank you for such an informative video. You definitely have the talent of not only cutting hair perfectly, you are a gifted teacher as well. I am an elderly man who has cut many throughout the years, wife, kids and my own using the exact technique as you have just demonstrated. Long or short styles, always pulling the hair away from the head for layering (except for the neck), cutting the top all the same length so a part can be made anywhere or none at all. Will be watching your other videos when they are available.

I want to start by thanking you for all the time and effort that you put into your videos, also how well you explain every step. I do cut my own hair and I think I do a very good job. At first it was kind of difficult but the more you do it the easier it gets. Thank you again and may you and your loved ones have a blessing and warm New Years.

Great job...very informative. Definitely a lot of techniques shared and learning for viewers. I've been cutting my own and my son's for many, many years now and I see quite a few tips that will make the process much easier, less time consuming and get me through those areas that just never seem to go right. Being left handed always throws me when trying to match each side...or maybe I'm a bit dyslexic. Definitely need to review and practice. But hey...I definitely can't compete with your level of experience and expertise. So I will take what I've learned...review for subtleties I missed and keep working at it. Thank you!

I do cut my own hair for the last 6 years.. just last years I started leaving the top long and have learned how to cut it and take some volume off. I will say I would have not been able to cut my hair if it were not for my 3 way mirror that my mother in law made for me. I got the idea form a bathroom near that has 3 cabinet doors that open to the side and helped me view the back threw the mirror across. Also when I was younger I did planned at the time to be a barber and got practice cutting hair from school friends. It is not easy, but has saved me money, time, and headaches from barbers that want to do 1 hair style on every one or over charge and still dont give me the hair style I asked. They dont even know much about cutting with shears and most hair stylist dont know about skin fades so I'd rather do both my self.

@@chelseavuchinich4859 oh I have curly hair, and I found the “unicorn” method really helpful. There are tons of videos about it here on YT ^^

Crazy to say this but i watched this video several times and even practiced on my dog lol. It actually came out good cause he has kind medium length hair. It saved me some money to take my dog to a groomer. Subbed!

Would love to see some videos on mid-long curly hair.. would love to hear your advice on cut/styling especially for someone who needs tighter sides for face shape! Thanks for sharing!

Could you please make a video how to cut the sides and back of men's medium length hair without clippers? What different methods could you use? Much appreciated

I slowed the video to half speed because I was really impressed how quickly he flips the scissors and switches hands with the brush. It just so happened I watch in half speed from 14:36-15:18 where he’s talking about being quick and efficient to get the job done. I might be stoned myself but hearing his voice in half speed made it so hilarious 😂

I want to get to that hairstyle but I don't know if my hair can go there because it's wavy and dry, dryness makes curl up at the sides and the back when I grow it out so I never got there before

I have been cutting my hair for past fifteen years. I Started in college with a crew cut and a goatee. And now muscle memory has just set in. And can do most cuts you show on myself or others. And I am not even a barber 😂💈🤘

So a version with shorter sides would be a "scissor" undercut?
