Man you are great this is the video I have been searching for Please make this kind of video more
I think I definitely need layering done on my next haircut. My hairs very long and thick, also it’s all one length meaning it looks pretty dull and flat. I’m not sure what to ask for though, as I want face framing pieces but I’m scared they’ll give me a fringe😅
Very helpful tutorial on layering, especially on the top of the head, thanks!
Perfect! Well-explained!
I had made the mistake last time I grew out my hair of not layering it for a while. After I did it was so much easier to work with. This time since I'm growing it back out now I'll take care of that earlier in the process so styling it at the different stages will be much easier.

How long before you got it layered? I’m 7 months in, zero trims, and it’s starting to bother me.
@StrappingYoungLadam
2 жыл бұрын
@@peeper2070 So at 7 months I can reasonably assume you have roughly 3.5 - 4 inches of hair. At that length I'd say have it textured which is almost the same as layering and that should make your life a bit easier.

Can you do a video on Layne Staley’s hairstyle from the “them bones” video ?
fantastic
I have long layers but sometimes I want some hair cut where it’s disconnected round my face and neck but keeping the rest of my hair long everywhere else. My hairdresser rarely wants to do this for me. Could you do a video on disconnecting some hair in a hair cut and explain the theory behind this technique? I have really long layered hair but I always need more bounce/movement round my face otherwise it drags my face down and the best results for me is to disconnect some hair from the usual layers, (I usually end up doing it myself). Thank you
Hello Salon Guy i love your videos, I use Dr Woods and it's sulfate free it's pure castle soap and i also use Damage slayer
I understood layering is above the ears, 45° up, and used to cut females because the haircut gets round and feminine. 45° down under the ears is graduation. Used for men. So men are cut straight to the side, or straight up to get the male look. Is this correct?
I think layering looks its best on straight hair.. Watching live tennis, Rublev a Russian top ten, is suffering too much layering, he's got wavy nice hair, looks too untidy now..
Can you do the Michael Knight hairstyle, or any 80s style similar to that? I have wavy hair

Does anyone know of a good picture on a real person of the third hairstyle that he showed or the name of the hairstyle? I’ve been trying to grow out my undercut into that style and I’d like something to show the barber/stylist
Steven the salon guy. You said that if the hair is thick it just wants to lay flat if there aren’t any layers but my hair has no layers and is very thick and wavy but still just bulls up and when J swiped it up it stays up with no movement it just stays up. How do I get it to lay flatter without so much bulk and have some movements

Hey I have a problem with my hair I would love for you to help me my when I put it down it’s all ways sticking but don’t know how to spread it
I feel like when my hair is all even on top it gets to a point where it starts looking poofy behind the fringe ..but if I behind the fringe it looks nice at first looks flat with the fringing coming out but then it looks uneven and messy . Everytime I go to the hairdressers they keep giving me a rounded haircut or uneven to the point I have to shave it all off. I've currently buzzed my hair off but I just want a haircut where I have a bit of fringe it looks flat and square on top. My head shape is diamond

This is percisely the problem I suffer from as well. My hair is very fine and thick too, and I've never seen a video on how to fix it or avoid it. It appears to be pretty rare.
what video is this manequinn from I like the cut
I used to have long hair and they always put in layers because my hair is very thick. I always hated them though and made it look like an old ladies haircut
my hair is really fine light hair so i probably dont need layers? but my hair is super flat too
But what exactly IS a layer. A before shot of some hair on a head, and after, where youve layered just that one part would be good. And what part would you want to be "layered" the top buts you see or the undergrowth lol
What do you think about Daniel Alfonso? You think is a good hairstylist?

Is getting your hair thinned out the same a layering or completely different? If so, would you always recommend getting your hair layered every time you get a haircut?
@TheSalonGuy

It’s different and it depends on the cut honestly.
Can you layer hair when trying to grow it out or is it better to just wait it out? It is very thick and I want to create movement and flow, but afraid to lose too much length.

I need an answer for this too
i understand about the layer cause i always layering my hair cause i got thick hair. But after i layer my hair, i ask my barber for jist a little trim at the end to clean it up. But they always trim more than i ask i dont know why and make my hair a lot shorter 😫. Ny place not have so many barbershop that give good fade cut. I love the fade he did but he sometimes always meesed up my top 😡
