I have this set and loved it. Now I have an allergy and can’t use the gel because I need HEMA free. Dots Kokoist make a HEMA free version? I have another brand that is allergy safe but the tips pop off in 1-2 days

Would you need to do primer or dehydrator before application? Using mega stick base instead of duo bond

For those who are unable to soak products off, are you able to a tutorial of removing the gelip tips completely with an efile, with no soaking off?

Quality is great. They are not as sculpted as APRES.

What size were the tips? I'm thinking about trying them out!

No primer needed. Use Mega stick base, much better adhesion. Use any color on top.

Should you fill in the cuticle area with the mega stick base if you are using that instead of the bonding duo?

If you had to choose (and price wasn't an issue), gelip or apres?

Can I use Excel Builder gel instead of the Bonding duo? Will it adhere to the natural nail?

No. Duo is a 2 in 1, is a base and builder. Excel does not have base gel and therefore will lift right off the natural nail. It needs to go over base gel.

Should be strong enough. The strength comes from the tip and the adhesión of the gel underneath to the natural nail.

Can I use the Platinum bond II as the base coat before using the bonding duo as the builder to adhere the tip to my nail? Also, I couldn't really tell from the video but were you able to build an apex with this system or is it more to look like natural nails? Thank you! Love your videos about the Japanese soak offs. Yes, you can definitely use PBII for base, then duo for Gelip. To build an Apex, I would recommend rolling the Gelip a bit to give it more of a curve, and use enough Duo so that you don’t have to press too hard down and flatten the Gelip. Thanks for the feedback! PS, I do recommend gently buffing the back tip w/ a sponge buffer or using bonder on the back for it to last longer.

Yes. Bonding duo is not the best to adhere. It will wear for about 10 days. The Apres gel adhesive is better... or you can hang tight as Kokoist is releasing a new adhesive gel called Mega Stick. Should work much better then bonding duo to adhere.

New Kokoist gel (Mega Stick) is coming. The current gels they have don’t adhere for long wear.

Can the beetle lamp be used to do the full cure or is it only powerful enough for the flash cure?

It will do an ok job if in a pinch (one time the power in the salon went out and had to use as it was cordless. The clients nails lasted 3 weeks, but not as shiny as usual. Which prob meant also all the gels in that service cured, but not to their potential kind-of-thing.

I totally bought the beetle lamp as a cute, convenient, portable lamp to use for traveling, or on-the-go, or even at home when I have limited tabletop space (I'm a DIY-er), but now I'm wondering if I shouldn't have bothered. For how long do you recommend I cure for a full cure?

Mine keep popping off a couple days after application, any idea what might be causing this?
