I wish you could see my face when you knit backwards. I've been knitting for 23 years and never even thought about doing that.

Finally someone else!!! I haven't purled in 20 yrs. . The only thing I do different is transfer my yarn to the right hand and after inserting the left needle into the back , i simply lift the yarn thet is between my first 2 fingers over towards the front ...I can knit backwards way faster than purling..the only time I cant is if its a ribbed row, my brain can not handle that at all..love your videos. I especially liked the Hygge socks.

Thank you so much for this video and the written instructions! I had tried 3 times already to knit a small blanket and it looked so bad, it became that unravelled pile of yarn you showed! 😆 Knitting backwards is the best, I had never thought to do that before, but I can see how much better it made my project look as my tension can get a bit out of whack when knitting and purling, especially with chenille. Your tips definitely saved me and I was able to knit a lovely little blanket for a friend. Thank you! 😊

You are a lifesaver! I've been wrestling with some chunky/bulky chenille for a few days trying to get it to cooperate and become a scarf, and I just couldn't get it to look like anything. Now I feel like I've got a better handle on how to do right by it and make it better. Many thanks!

Thank you. I’m returning to knitting after a 25 year break. My daughter wants a chenille blanket made for Xmas. For the past week I have been struggling so much but this helped me greatly. She may not have it by Xmas but she’ll get it once I get more comfortable and my work doesn’t look so sloppy. Tension is now my focus.

Great video! You have such a nice way of explaining things. I'm working with chenille for the first time and making a bed jacket. I did a swatch in stockinette as that is the main stitch in my pattern. My gauge was spot on by going down a needle size. But, the pattern starts with a bottom garter stitch border and by the time I got to the third row it looked like it was going to be way too big! Question: Due to the nap and slippage with chenille yarn, do you have to pull tighter when you knit to get even stitches?

Thank you!! Amazing tutorial! I’m a bit confused about the tension tip #2 tho cause I’m using single point straight needles. Does the tip #2 apply to the straight needles too?

Complete newbie here and wanted this to be my first project!! Looking to purchase the 9mm circular knitting needles but it comes in 36in 9mm or 16in 9mm…not sure if i could use either or a particular one? And does wood or aluminum make a difference? Thanks for the help!!

36in is better for a blanket. And a lot of newbies prefer wood because it is a little less slick than metal so easier to keep your stitches on.
