Great video! I leave the radio on during the day so that they are hearing voices as well as the music. I also sprinkle a tiny bit of seed on alternate days on the cage floor. I'd done this I initially to encourage them to forage on the base, now it's become part of our routine. Yes, they remind me if I forget! lol

My birds LOVE baroque harpsichord music. So when I have to walk to the grocery store up the hill from me, I’ll hide little bits of millet and some bits of almond and safflower in the pineapple toy, those little corn toys, the wooden balls that I have hanging in their cages via rope, etc., and then put a baroque harpsichord playlist that I downloaded from iTunes on and they all really seem to enjoy hanging out in their cages, making their ways around finding the treats, and peeping along to baroque harpsichord. My young male budgie REALLY gets very melodically going along with the music, and the other two birds really seem to enjoy his performances and try to keep up. They form a little chorus. Sometimes when I get back from the grocery store and go to let them out of their cage it’s like they really don’t want to come out of their cages at that point, they’ve been having a little party. It’s fun for them!

I leave my birds out. Have for years now. No issue. Did turn my bedroom into a bird room mind you lol. I've played bird noises before, but only for a few seconds. 9/10 times you just get their flock call response. I get that when I go into the kitchen enough as it is thanks lol. I'd leave music on before I leave TV on to be honest. That block foraging toy on the left looks really cool. I take a scoop of healthy seed mix and toss it around on the 4 foraging areas if I do need to leave. Keeps them busy for a little bit at least. They tend to forage as much as they can, then nap after.

Everyone’s set up is different but as a rule I don’t blanket recommend leaving birds out unsupervised - I know mine would be straight to the wires and chewing the walls! I’ve seen some birds freak out at bird noises, so something with a bit of rhythm instead goes down better 😂 And yes, foraging all the way!

Bird tv! Birdtricks has wonderful bird tv, I always mute it and open another window on my computer with calming classical music (Debussy is the best) preferably something piano, guitar or harp, no flutes. I tend to shy away from loud music or over emotional rock or pop, my bird gets kinda over heightened - though the music is familiar and probably associated with loved ones because we really love rock music in our family. When I live music for him volume is always about volume 14 to 25 volume- no more. You can also put a screen saver of that one abstract picture you like, maybe a colorful watercolor or pencil painting perhaps or may something you made yourself? It is just to block the screen so it is not too busy. If you wanna learn more about classical music benefits for in neuroscience search it up it is so interesting I was so pleased when I discovered that it actually calms my bird’s body beautifully , and I calm myself just as much!

They get on really well, eat in the same cage, play in the same cage ect. I'd love to pair them in the same cage but I'm concerned they might fight when not supervised. Do you think, i could leave them over night together? Really not sure, don't want either to start plucking ect. Both are very tame. Thank you for all your help and advice. Vanessa x

Hi Vanessa, have you tried supervised in cage time during the day, say for an hour at a time together, then increase the duration? If that has all gone well and there is enough food and water bowls and perches for each, try a whole day together. If that goes well then I'd say give overnight a go!
