    Great video! And good advice on having softer toys, I'll be on the lookout. Question about foraging: Since the bottom of the cage is basically a minefield of poop flying down from above, our foraging toys get pooped on a lot within a single day (we've got branches all over the cage so there isn't really any spot that they can't poop from haha). Any tips on that? Or just accept it and clean the toys at the end of the day?

    My birds are happy to use the entirety of their cage. I just don’t like putting perches at the bottom because they will get pooped on really quickly, and are difficult for me to clean regularly. So I have plenty of toys and perches for them at the top 2/3 of the cage, and leave the bottom 1/3 of the cage empty so that I don’t have to spend so much time keeping up with the clean up. It also makes cleaning the cage bottom easier since it gives me more space for my hands. They still go to the bottom of the cage to forage for dropped treats though!

  • @BirdNerdSophie
    @BirdNerdSophie2 күн бұрын

    Hi Sophie 😊 I have a question about F10. When you've sprayed everything with F10, do you need to clean everything with water afterwards? Of course parrots use their toys and wipe their beaks on perches. So I was not certain if I could use F10 and leave it as it is.

  • @BirdNerdSophie

    F10 doesn’t need to be washed off, just needs to dry then it’s safe for the birds to be around 😊

    Sorry about this. Im commenting on your latest video because i have a question. I have two cockatiels but i can get pellets. Its not that its expensive but there are literally none here and if i were to ship it from the us to africa it would actually cost a kidney. Im trying to introduce more vegetables and grains to my cockatiels diet everyday so im just asking if thats okay? Can i make them live long on a raw diet without pellets?

    I also think they have similarities to cockatos. Valentine is a chatterbox, loves water, very inquisitive, loves his own reflection, he's bossy and has a tendency to be easily excited. So yes, I agree with your assessment. Definitely not an easy conure, but Valentine has been better for having a companion 😀

They eat their chop, pellets and some seed as 10% of their diet. ( the seeds are not on the healtheir side so i would appreciate it if you will tell me about some good seed mix too ) What should i do, i have been really worried for months now.
