Hi I really need help. After restarting my macbook and choosing the Windows startup disk, instead of showing the windows startup screen, it shows me the apple startup screen and tells me that it needs internet connection to verify my startup disk (even though I've already connected to wifi). After that when it asks me to choose my startup disk to restart again it only shows me Macintosh. After I re-restarted again my WINFILES is gone and only the partition is left. What should I do?? I'm using a 15-inch MacBook Pro 2018 version

However, after that window, while it says "Getting ready" with just the windows logo and that message at the bottom, a blue screen shows up. I've tried either your way creating a partition, and also using a bootable usb. Do you have any idea? Thank you.

is this happening after you installed windows already ? You could just repeat the entire process... Go back into MacOS and reformat that ExFAT partition and copy the windows files & support files again and retry to boot windows partition after restarting. iT has to work, maybe you skipped something.

Hello Denis, Hopefully you will get the chance to review my question. I am following along with your video but when I got to copy the Windows support files into the 8gb win files (I copied your name) it says I need 251.4 mb more room to copy the $WinPEDriver$ over. Do you have any idea what to do? I was trying to figure out if I could expand the size without losing any of the partition process but I cannot find a way. I am on a 2015 MacBook Pro running Mojave. The exact message it. "Not enough disk space to copy "$WinPEDriver$" Additional 251.4mb of disk space is required to copy this file." Any ideas on what to do? I am using a freshly redone Mac, so I have the partition size to 242gb for my Mac, 8gb for WINFILES and 250gb for the bootcamp partition I want to download windows onto. Thanks!

Robert Briggs I had the same issue, so heres what I'm doing (haven't tested yet). Go erase the WINFILES, go to your home disk and delete the partition WINFILES (you may need to KZread it), and remake the partition in disk utility. I made my partitions in disk utility. Now make it 9gb and try all of the steps again. It should work but I'll edit if it doesn't. Edit: Happy to say it worked, there was enough space now. Hopefully I can get it set up now :)

Denis Schiopu Hi, Thanks for creating such informational videos. I need a bit of advice. I have Macbook Air 2017 whose ssd I want to upgrade. Now below are my questions regarding that: 1) Sintech’s adapter is not available in my country, can I order any other adapter with similar config and expect it to work with similar performance? 2) Adapters that are available in my country clearly says to plug in ssd which support ACII not NVMe. Since you already mentioned that Mojave (My current OS) supports NVMe. So will that adapter now automatically supports NVMe or shall I go ahead with AHCI ssd? 3) Please suggest 3 SSDs each of NVMe type and AHCI type as all options are not available in my country. 4) My main motive of upgrading ssd is to use windows along with Mac OS. I saw people facing issues in bootcamp installations for which you already provided the video, but I have Parallels software. So installing Windows in that will work flawlessly or it can be erroneous? You support will highly be appreciated. Thanks in advance

but this video is for 2015 MacBooks not 2017 .... does your MacBook have a removable SSD ? count the number of pins on the SSD ? very important.... this is the SINTECH OFFICIAL WEB SITE YOU CAN BUY: eshop.sintech.cn/ngff-m2-pcie-ssd-card-as-2013-2014-2015-macbook-ssd-p-1229.html Other adapters on the market look similar buy size and color but those don't perform as Sintech, you risk getting kernel panics etc. basically you'll get a lot of black screen errors if using a different adapter... AHCI is a slower type of SSD compared to NVME (faster speeds R/W) You could get INTEL 760P NVME, Crucial P1 NVME, WD Black NVME, even XPG NVME or HP NVME or ADATA NVME will work all of these will perform at good R/W speeds but SAMSUNG will be faster you could get EVO or PRO (EVO PLUS DOESN'T WORK ON MACBOOKS, DO NOT BUY EVO PLUS). HONESTLY, its better if you remove the back cover from your MacBook, remove the battery connector, then remove the original SSD, take a few pictures of the SSD connection end and count the number of pins the shiny little pads its very important before buying the adapter because on the adapter page it says from 2013 to 2016.. nowhere I see 2017 so find this out... the pins count should be 12 + 16, if it's exactly then you can go ahead and buy the adapter and whatever SSD you can buy. REMEMBER: any SAMSUNG SSD NVME - will drain you laptop battery much faster then other SSD, I also switched from SAMSUNG EVO to CRUCIAL P1 and the battery lasts about 7 - 8 h of use and sleep time is about 3 days. With EVO I was getting only 3 - 4h of use and less than 1 day of sleep time.

Yeah open disk utility and select the macOS drive them look how much purgeable GB there are ? If the number is almost what you should of had free space then you must delete the TM snapshots because that is the purgeable space being occupied with. So once you delete the TM snapshots then that purgeable space should become almost 0GB. This happened to me when I was actually trying to back up my iPhone and I had free space but it was giving the error of not having enough space.

You should note those errors on a piece of paper so we can search what are related to. So let me get a clear understanding: Bootcamp app is partitioning properly and is copying all the files and the it restarts and then you boot windows. At which exact point in windows process of fails ? Do you even see the windows set up window ? In windows set up process do you get to the point where you select the bootcamp partition ? Try a different version of windows 10 let’s say April or October edition make sure you choose 64 bit versions since you have a 2014 MacBook your CPU is most likely 64 bit. Also try a older windows let’s say windows 8.1 and see if this will work on your machine. Then from 8.1 you can free upgrade to windows 10 if you have a licensed Key.

I'm assuming you downloaded the Windows Support Files using BootCamp app in MacOS... you have to troubleshoot and find a fix, i would recommend: 1. go back into your MacOS and start BootCamp and at the top menu find Download Windows Support Files and just click on it, after it saves them copy onto a USB drive, boot back into Windows and run the installed from this copied files you just Downloaded. It has to work... what windows edition did you install ? There is a file inside BootCamp App package that can be edited for your machine to be able to install windows. But that is a little more complicated. Basically BootCamp has XML file where are listed all the Macbooks models and what windows edition are supported and what not... if to find your model in that file we could probably edited and make it work, but first try my recommendation.

is your MacBook - MacBookPro11,3 ? this you would find in System Information -> Model Identifier. Mine is - Model Identifier: MacBookPro12,1. Now go to Folder APPLICATIONs -> Utilities -> Right Click on BOOT CAMP ASSISTANT.APP -> Click Show Package Contents -> open Contents folder -> open file INFO.PLIST. Inside this file is a list of all supported MacBooks to install windows. Press CMD+F to search and type your MacBook model: example: MacBookPro11,3 -> if you find good, IF YOU DONT FIND IT THEN YOU MUST BE ADDED. TO ADD ANYTHING TO THIS FILE YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SAVE IT BECAUSE YOU MUST DISABLE SYSTEM INTEGRITY PROTECTION USING DISK UTILITY. !!!!ATTENTION HERE: MAKE A COPY OF THAT FILE.PLIST ON YOUR DESKTOP AS ORIGINAL UNMODIFIED COPY JUST IN CASE YOU'LL WANT TO GO BACK TO PREVIOUS SETTINGS ALSO MAKE A TIME MACHINE BACKUP BEFORE TO DO THE FOLLOWING STEPS. !!!!! TO DO THIS: Click the Apple menu. Select Restart... Hold down Command + R to boot into Recovery mode. Click the Utilities menu and select Terminal. Type "csrutil disable" and press return. Close the Terminal app. Click the Apple menu and select Restart... You should now be able to modify the file, after you can repeat these steps with "csrutil enable" to secure your machine again. NOW GO INTO THAT INFO.PLIST FILE AND ADD YOUR MODEL TO THE LIST. MINE IS HERE SO YOU CAN JUST ADD ANOTHER LINE MATCHING THE CODE: PreWindows10OnlyModels MacBookPro11,3 //THIS IS YOUR MODEL ADDED MacBookAir7,2 MacBookPro12,1 MacPro6,1 Macmini7,1 iMac17,1 AFTER THIS SAVE THE FILE AND REPEAT THIS TO RE-ENABLE SYSTEM INTEGRITY PROTECTION: Click the Apple menu. Select Restart... Hold down Command + R to boot into Recovery mode. Click the Utilities menu and select Terminal. Type "csrutil enable" and press return. Close the Terminal app. Click the Apple menu and select Restart... NOW RUN BOOTCAMP AND EVERYTHING SHOULD BE WORKING FINE.

Thanks for the reply it so damn fast And thanks it has work for me now finally after so many tries even though I might not use it that much it’s better it’s there I made some research and kept on rewatching your video to see the format your drives are just to be sure And by the could you please make a statement on your description telling people how to partition and what format their manually partitioned drive should be if they are using usb Thanks a lot bro

👍 sounds good !! Mmmm well it’s kind of obvious I think that if you’re creating a partition for Windows should be Non Apple format so any MS-DOS format for that partition should be fine. I might make a small Video specifically with manually installing windows on Mac with a USB drive because it’s not that easy I think.

My mac also has the same bootcamp version number as yours. Is your mac older than 2015 because mine is from mid-2014 (MacBookPro11,1-13"). My Bootcamp assistant doesn't have the ISO and partition size selection in the same window as shown in the video, it asks me to save the ISO to a USB and then afterwards gives me the partition allocation window. After countless installation tries i've only gone up to the Windows 10 installation as shown in the video's 12:26 min mark right before it goes to the "Just a moment" section. Dies with a BSOD saying "Critical_Process_Died : (" error. Right now i've given up and just using the MacOS until someone finds a solution.

you have to select the partition and click UNMOUNT first before formatting, or restarting the MacBook might help, or you could boot into recovery mode, start disk utility and format it there.

And Apple has difficulty fixing this quickly because.....? I mean, this should be a simple change to adjust the installer partition to exFAT vs FAT, and done. I realize they have no incentive to make Windows "easier" than macOS, but come on. This has been an issue since the 1709 release, over a year ago. Whoever is in charge of the Boot Camp Assistant app at Apple needs to wake up.
