I have some aftermarket led fog lights with halo ring. My led fog light bulbs glow just once in a while after turning vehicle off. I bought a load resistor to stop that issue. My question is where should I connect the resistor, to the black wire or red from the bulb socket?

I have 12.8v 1.7w led bulbs I was trying to replace my headlights on a e bike scooter . They worked for a few mins then shut off . Do I need a resistor and the bulbs won’t turn back on again . Wondering why. Why did they work at first

are these JW Speaker resistors ?

I don't see how this would add any resistance to the circuit unless you install it in series. The power will still follow the path of least resistance to the bulb and back through ground.

what is the purpose of tapping into the ground wire in the socket? why not just ground the resistor with the screw that you're going to use to mount it to the body?

They are indeed necessary for certain vehicles that have a more complicated ECU and wiring system. However, when purchasing with PrecisionLED, if a resistor is needed, then one is shipped out.
