How To Install LED Lights On a Back Rack [4K]

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a quick run through of how we installed two LED Lights on the Back Rack in this 2015 Ford F150. The install was fairly simple we first marked out holes to drill for the mounting location on the back rack. We then measured lengths of wire that would pop out under the bed, and another length to run down the frame rail and up to the battery. We used a wireless switch from Oracle model 5772-504. This allowed us to not have to get wires through the firewall and into the cab. The switch has several modes besides steady on that can be changed easily with the included key fob to turn on the lights.

@metal1301 I am not sure what happened to your comment but I did read it. Thank you for the plethora of information you included. I actually came to realize on my own using the dielectric grease with heat shrink was not working and had since stopped using that, someone had taught me that. The different styles of splicing the wires together was definitely interesting and I looked into all of them and will definitely be using for the future. I am at still happy with the work i did here because many people opt to just use quick crimp connectors which I don't believe in at all. I did and always use an inline fuse on all of my wiring projects, must have forgotten to include that in the video. And for sure those Milwaukee lights are killer I keep one in my own truck at all times great for an emergency and very impressive run time on them.

Very nice and detailed step by step video. Is there anything that you would recommend to add to this build, as a safety or anti theft protection? I’d love to get lights on the rack but am paranoid about the lights getting stolen, especially if I have to park out on the street.

With that remote can you control more then 2 lights separately ? I have a back rack on my truck and I want a 12" light bar facing forward and 2 , 4" cubes facing towards the rear but i would want the front controlled separately from the rear facing lights is that possible with the 1 remote ?

You unfortunately can not control them separately from that switch it is just one main on off, the other buttons are to control the flash pattern. I am actually currently working to develop a product that will have the ability to wirelessly power any number of accessories from 1-8 if it works out I will let you know.

I am wanting to purchase a Back Rack and install a set of LED light pods. Can I use that same wiring harness that you use? I also thought about wiring them into one of my upfitter switches but I am not sure how to do that. Can you give me some insight on how to do that?

@@TrevsGarage I have a 2016 Ford F250 Super Duty. It has the 4 upfitter switches. If I use an upfitter switch, how would I wire the lights into the switch? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
