I wish LEDs were better in vehicles but they just aren’t there yet for older vehicles. They tend to last much longer than conventional bulbs. Hopefully soon they will be :)

Thank you. This is the only video on KZread I could find to address this fix. I don't know how you so easily removed the little black plastic anchor though, I couldn't figure out what to push on. I had to break mine off. You mentioned that you had a lower hole thar was missing a fastener. On my Ridgeline, that hole has a screw in it. All the other holes in that flexible assembly had roughly a half dozen plastic anchors. I just removed the screw and broke off the one anchor, and I was JUST able to get my hand and wrist inside to change the bulb. Wasn't easy, but doable. Thanks again for the video!

Glad you were able to get in there and change it out. That’s a bad design on the Ridgeline. It shouldn’t be that hard to change out a necessary turn signal. Thanks for commenting, I’m sure this will help someone in the future!

If you are doing an LED replacement for these turn/marker lights, get the 3457 CK type bulb and resistor plug-in. no splicing needed. Just an extra wire going between the original mount and socket got both for the fronts. Rears are 7443 CK type bulbs. Get red/amber depending on rear tail light color. Fronts can be made to be switchbacks. The CK types have different power and grounds than the standard or “universal” fit ones.

Sounds like an electrical issue. Do both turn signal lights turn on or is it just one when you brake?

  • @TheGoocherLee

Thank you for this video. I noticed that my drivers side turn signal bulb would not operate while in running light mode unless I gave it a Fonzie bap! with my fist on the lens cover, then it would come on. But it would continue to happen. I wonder what the issue is, and how replacing the bulb fixes it? Anyway, thanks again for the video.

Sounds like an electrical or wiring issue. It could be numerous things with type of issue: the bulb not making good contact, lose connection on a harness, bulb could be shorting out, cut in the wire, etc. I’d start with the bulb (check it connection, make sure it’s still good), then look at the wires and connectors. If you’ve got a multimeter you could use that to diagnosis the issue with wire continuity and also proper voltage. Best of luck.

When you said it's even easier than going underneath the hood you just go into the fender I'm like oh that is not easier

  • @MCFIXIT

Yes, bc you would have to pull out the whole light housing which means pulling off the whole front bumper. This side is crazy weird but the fender is the easy way up change it out. I should have said that better in the video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I just pulled the plastic wheel well down enough to get my hand in and (looking at the light) guidedmy hand right to it, turned it a 1/4 turn and it popped out ... (The wires arent very long so you'll have look into the wheel well to see the light receptacle) push the new light in and make sure it seats well and dosent pop out .. Guide the light back to the hole looking for it in front and once you see it go into the hole and seat, turn it a 1/4 turn until it locks and youre done.. Check the light before you do anything else and then maneuver the plastic wheel well into place. If you push it and make it fit tight you May not even need a locking pin ... But use one anyways. Thanks for your help

That’s it! If you go under the hood on this you have take off the whole bumper… but that’s the access hole I use in this video. Glad they put that option there. Engineers don’t always think through things like that.

If you upgrade the turnsignals to LED, you can fix the hyperactive flashing by replacing the flasher unit under the dash with a LED compatible unit for under $20. You can easily find the flasher by turning on the turnsignals and feeling for the clicking.
