How To Install Blinds in 20 Steps | Cordless 2 Inch Faux Wood Blinds From Home Depot
In this video I show you how to install blinds with an inside mount using the Cordless 2 Inch Faux Wood Blinds from Home Depot.
Watch this video to view the 20 step process I used to install the blinds, and view the final result. Overall, I'm happy with the blinds and have installed them in several windows throughout my house. I like that the blinds are cordless as it's much safer for my kids, plus no more hassle with tangled cords! (I have a CRAZY story about why blinds with cords are DANGEROUS for kids. I'll tell you in the comments.)

Here’s a story to illustrate why I’m grateful for cordless blinds: When I was about 6 years old, I was jumping on the bed with my little brother. We looked out the window and saw our neighbor so we both yelled to each other “Duck Down!”. We then bounced down fast onto the bed. As I looked at my brother, I could tell something was wrong and he was hurt. My sister came in at this point and we both had him lie down on the bed as we looked at him. His mouth was puffed out like he was making a monkey face. He then opened his mouth and we both yelled, “Mommy! Daddy! Come quick!”. Our parents ran in to see what we were yelling about and to their horror, my brother had blood dripping from his mouth and 6 of his top front teeth sticking straight out. After some time, we figured out how it happened. He was chewing on the cord to the blinds right as we both ducked to hide from the neighbor. The cord ripped out 6 of his teeth! This experience stuck with me so every time I installed corded blinds throughout the past several years, I always made sure the cord was tucked away, out of reach for my kids. Then, I discovered the cordless ones! With the newer cordless blinds there is no cord to tuck away. They’re MUCH safer!

Good video, straight to the point. One question, why place the brackets 3.5 inches away from the edge?

Thanks! I based it on the instructions with the blinds for the inside mount. I’m honestly not completely certain why. It looks like you could install them closer. Sorry I don’t have a better answer!
