Thanks and I agree bang for the buck these blinds are my top choice.
EXCELLENT!!! Thank you for this great, succinct, video!! Now to go install the four blinds we got!! 10:32, Okay, we installed one (of five) and something that I wish you’d put in your video is to put the brackets for the header on the blinds BEFORE you attach them to the brackets! When we re-watched your video, we saw that you had them on there, but it wasn’t explained or obvious. Now we have to take the blind down and put the clip on and then put the blind back on and hope it holds!! The instructions clearly state not to put the blinds on the bracket before screwing them to the window frame. Also, pre-drilling the screw holes is a good idea and a must for us.
Thank you so much! I got mine up super easy with your help.
This video gave me the confidence to install the exact same blinds! Was easy and all done in a day. Thanks so very much. And yes, nice eyes 😃

Thanks for the video. I just bought a new home and ordered blinds on Amazon. But they were the kind where you had a left/right piece on the inside that butted up against the frame. I've had issues in the past with those where if I got a blind a bit too small, it would fall out. Naturally it's tough to get an exact size. SOOO I cancelled that order and ordered these from Home Depot, as I like the way they mount better. Less forgiving and easier to install.

The problem for me was that in the UK; window recesses are built differently without wood fascia. The top is usual a steel or concrete lintel with a light plaster skim and the sides are usually brick with a plaster covering and skim. This makes this method difficult. The only solution in this situation is to attatch a wooden baton to the top and then use that as an anchor for the brackets.
Worked like a charm thanks!
Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for this video. You save us so much money.
Great instruction! Thank you!
Thanks for the video! Currently trying to decide between inside and outside mount for my install; I have a similar window with the swivel mechanisms at the bottom - do you find that those interfere with the blinds closing fully? Would outside mounting make any difference?
@EverydayHomeRepairs
4 жыл бұрын
Hey Joseph, good question and yes the normal cranks on the casement windows will interfere with the 2 1/2 inch blinds when you do an inside mount. Options to remedy while maintaining inside mount this would be: 1) Foldable Cranks: amzn.to/2KCFEKS 2) Tee Handle Cranks: amzn.to/2W5aP7c Option 1 is easier to open and close but probably about 2X the cost. Also maybe going with a 2 inch opposed to 2.5 inch would give a little more clearance. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you for the video! This is very useful. Do these blinds move up and down as a whole as well other than just open and close? Asking since these blinds seem to be cordless.
@EverydayHomeRepairs
4 жыл бұрын
Yeah with cordless blinds you can just push them up or pull them down from the bottom and they will stay in place. You will still have the wand for adjust the angle of the slats to let in more or less light. Seems like all blinds are moving to cordless.
Thank you for creating this clip! I was wondering how to order one large blind in three pieces with three panels? Two on each side are operable and one is fixed in the center.

If it’s a double window, take the overall trim to trim opening measure & split that number. So if it’s 70-3/4, store will split that to 35-3/8 35-3/8, and they will do the deductions of a 1/4 on each side to be safe
Great video, I bought these exact blinds and was just wondering if you had any issues regarding the tension of the blinds being tight when you pulled them down? Is there anything I can do to adjust the tension to make it a bit smoother? I don't want to feel like I'm going to pull the bracket off the frame every time I pull the blinds down. Thanks!
@EverydayHomeRepairs
4 жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel, I don’t believe there is an adjustment for the tension. They do take a bit to pull down but as long as the brackets are secured with the clips fully latched around the top rail you shouldn’t have any issue. Best of luck!

Hey Reina, In most cases you just need a phillips head screwdriver or a cordless drill with a phillips head bit which is 3 inches or longer. I like to drill pilot holes with an 1/8 inch drill bit prior to screws but probably not a must.
What a good explanation 👏 thank you.

Hey Beth, best of luck on the project!
Great video, the only thing I would add is when you're installing them inside the window frame on a single large blind (not 3 smaller as he's doing here), lining up the clamps you're installing must be very close to perfect, so measure, mark the holes, and measure again before you drill...unless you want some holes in your frame. If you do say a 5 or 6 ft wide blind that requires 3 clamps, if any of the 3 (especially the middle clamp) are not perfectly aligned, the blind will not snap in place and job failed. When doing small blinds like this gentleman installed, with only 2 clamps, it's more "forgiving". Thanks for this video
That was a great tip to level that valance!

@@sarahb3548 you can remove the wand but it isn't easy to remove. When you install the wand for the first time you hear a "click" which is a small clear plastic tab that holds the wand into the main gear assembly that tilts the blind slats with the blind fully removed and the cover off the end of the headrail I have used a small allen wrench to pry the tab enough to pull the wand out with some considerable force.
