I asked a contractor how much would it cost to install a closer on my elderly mother's storm door (coincidence); he said for labor alone was $200! That is ridiculous, so I decided to do it myself. Thanks to you I installed the closer and saved my mother $200+ dollars.

This is by far the best freakin video that was very thorough in explaining how to install a storm door.

Dave Thanks for a great explanation on how to install. But my question to you is in my case the door jamb is narrow. It's only as wide as the closer bracket and I know that the wood will tear out with the size of those screws and the tension put on by the door. I'm dealing with a full view door too. Suggestions please!

Perfect got one from Home Depot no instructions what so ever. This guys shows you what the words on tall bracket means and where it goes. Also glass door verse metal door which hole to use solid 10 thanks

very simple instructions. top shelf video Dave. My question is i have a full glass storm door that currently has a wind chain installed but no closer. i want a closer but the door frame at the bottom is not wide enough to mount the closer. can the closer AND the wind chain be mounted at the top without interfering with each other?

Thanks, I don't know about the issue you have, I've personally not experienced that. Maybe you could remove the wind chain and just use the closer

Wow what a well done video, thanks so much 😁 Question…when you install the actual door bracket, is it done with a closed door or open door? When you installed it it didn’t seem to have any pressure on it, but then the video jumped to opening the closer with the stop to put the pin in the glass door hole. Thanks again, much appreciated.

Well there is a way to adjust the speed to close. But they come from the factory about right, no adjustment needed

the instrustion onthebox where 1000000x more complicated convputyed and horrbile comapred tothis.
