Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

#Landrover #LandroverDiscovery #LR3
Now this is a a easy install - for other people - apparently. It took us more than 5.5 hour to get the snorkel installed as a first time job. We show you every step of the way of this litle debacle. Hope you enjoy the video.

Thank you. That was really so funny when you described how clean the air filter is and the reason why you’re installing the snorkel. I’m in Australia. I have a D4, with a genuine safari snorkel. And even though I’ve done river crossings with it, and even though I have had water come over the bonnet. I don’t think that the water would have ever got close to the air inlet. There’s a high likelihood that I will never really need my snorkel either. It does give peace of mind though.

I installed a Safari Snorkel onto my Discovery 3. I have installed a couple of snorkels in the past on different vehicles and to be honest Christian, I did think you were kidding with the drilling effort on the A-Pillar. i was wrong, very wrong!! Drilling the A-Pillar holes were a real pain. We had to sharpen the drill bits many, many times. We broke two drill bits. The last hole was the one that hurt the most, the drill bit broke, the drill bounced on to the A Pillar, then remaining drill bit stub stabbed the windscreen causing three cracks through both layers of glass. Fortunately an after market windscreens installed price was not too dear. I was entitled to quite a large discount through the auto-club I am in (due to the many years of membership) similar to your ADAC. The windscreen I ordered was the one with the Automatic rain sensing mount. When the chap removed the broken windscreen I could see there was absolutely no corrosion, rust or any sign of water ingress past the seals. Hopefully the installer did as good a job as the land Rover factory did with their install.

Yes it takes you longer because you do it properly. De burring and painting and measure twice cut once approach. I bet if you took some of the snorkels off some D3s there would be a pile of mess behind them with oversized holes and rust and pipes not sealed. Keep up the good work guys😁👍🤿

Hi ,we all know jobs take longer is because ur both perfectionists and do the job so well, 👍👍,would be awesome if u have the fitting of a front A bar next please to go along with ur snorkel, lol , it’s nothing to do with me buying one and waiting until an excellent fitting video comes out, wink, wink, lol , as always awesome video , thank u for sharing , did hear fitting the Mantec RAI , a top trim clip is removed and a rivnut is fitted. that looked a pain trying to drill the windscreen pillar for the rivets , must admit didn’t realise that section was made out of boran steel , was wondering would a cobalt drill bit be any good drilling that or is that what u used plse, many thanks as always , stay safe and many thanks as always producing such fantastic informative videos 👍

Another great video you are very thorough, so we know you are German 😁😁 but I think you must have some English ancestry because you have a self- deprecating sense of humour I think everyone should have a 'Vera' to help 👍👍

Now you can do river crossings and cross German desserts. I have a 2nd hand one I need to fit. I can't justify the price of a new one. Only real issue I have is I don't have the instructions or templates for drilling or cutting. Its nerve-racking enough hacking into a perfectly good car, but not being 100% sure on locations takes it to another level.

@Christian Use a battery drill when you drill through steel you’ll find it cuts better at slower speed and learn how to sharpen drill bits or get Vera to do it. 😜😜😜

It's expanding with every repair. For our next repair, I have to buy torx longbits. That is how you get a well equipped workshop 😅 You start young and it's a neverending process. 😄👍🙋‍♀️ Vera

I would also like to know if you can now open the bonnet (hood) to the service position. Doesn't seem such a big price difference with a genuine safari snorkle her in the UK £192 + vat. I like the look of the genuine mantec one which you can now buy under the terrafirma brand. But it is not sealed and is only a raised air intake not for wading. Keep up the good work guys look forward to your videos each week. 👍

As a perfectionist and a German those 2 missing rivets must have been hell for you! Lovely job, so what's next, maybe a kangaroo guard as I'm sure there could be a problem with these around Frankfurt?

He is going to do a video about that explaining it all. But basically it is a DAB+ Antenna for our cheap chinese android unit. We have tried with dab+antennas inside the car. But because of the heated window, the reception is just not good. And we are not ready to drill a hole into the roof. That's why he chose this one. 👍🙋‍♀️ Vera
