Really happy you showed the high level input. I never though of just using one side and I can't believe I used to use both and wasted my time. Thank you so much. Such a simple small thing that makes all the difference.

I have the 12" rockville, and I love it. It really performs great. I put some lock-tite on the B+ and ground screws, should stop any backing out issue. I have an SUV so I get all the effects, no trunk separating me from it.

I have one just like this one, I was wondering if you can hook another one just like it to the one I have in my car which is just like yours in the video. I would think you would splice it in to the wires that are hooked up now… need help!! Thanks

Are you finding any problems with drone being pumped through the sub in the camaro? I keep reading about the active noise canceling gets pumped into the sub if you tap the rear speakers. And to make it more confusing appare try some non bose factory systems have the anc as well

Hey there, I'm currently attempting to go about installing a RV powered sub in my 10th gen Civic using your exact method. I had a couple concerns: Does tapping into only one speaker mean you're limited to mono rather than stereo? Does that make a large difference? Secondly, on my Civic, it seems like the rear speakers have worse bass delivery than the front speakers. Would this be a difference in speaker quality or the actual signal being transmitted? Would it matter if I tapped into the worse-sounding rear speakers? Thanks for your help!

  • @Gonin60

Does your sub have auto turn on and off? Tapping into the speaker just provides you with a signal to turn the sub on and off. Nothing more or less. Doesn’t matter the quality of speaker or not. Hard to say on your rear vs front. Could be settings, could be that a speaker is blown, could be an amp/wiring issue IDK.

Have you had any problems only tapping into one side for the audio. I’ve read multiple things saying you should tap into the right and left. I’m looking at getting a powered sub for my 2010 gti and it would be a lot easier to only tap into one side.

  • @Gonin60

I have now done this in two cars. You could always tap into one side and see if it gives you trouble. If it does then do both.

What's the difference between high and low level inputs? I have the rca cables and was about to just use those because i lost the wire harness that plugs into the Amp for the high level input. If there's a big difference i was even thinking about just soldering some speaker wire straight to the high input terminals? 🤷🏼 Also... where do you have the 12v constant power wire going to? Not sure what to do with that one or if you're using the rear speakers for that purpose. I'm not sure, thanks!

  • @Gonin60

I’m not a full blown expert. It has to do with sound quality and it’s loudness. I never had to use RCAs on a system with a built in amp. I just tapped into the rear speakers.

  • @AndreMarek64

High level inputs are to tap into normal speakers. Low level is for a stereo that has RCA outputs for a rear / subwoofer dedicated amp. Use one or the other, not both. Also, Rockville (and most powered subwoofers) have a signal processor that will turn the amplifier on/off based on signal from the high level inputs. If you use the low level RCA inputs, you HAVE to run a wire for the remote turn-on so it'll turn the amp on/off with your stereo.

@@AndreMarek64I got a 10th gen Honda civic. I don’t wanna tap into the front speakers, but I don’t want to cost the rear speakers to cut off at low bass. What should I do?

  • @AndreMarek64

    @AndreMarek64

    4 ай бұрын

@@danielsong1323 still use the line out converters, it won't affect the bass of the rear speakers, and you don't have to change anything stereo wise. You may need to run a wire for amp turn on to say your cigarette lighter (12v accessory) so it turns on when you turn your vehicle on.

  • @Gonin60

Because it has it built in. A regular sub and amp you would need that. Because you are tapping into the speakers it signals things to turn on

Nothing against the video! Great video! However, don't buy rockville people! They don't care about their product so why should you! I have one currently installed and it hasn't worked in months. Customer service says the same thing every time - "Sorry about that, we'll look for a replacement part.." Several conversations and that is the jist of every conversation. So when it dies, you'll be out $200.
