Thank you so much for this video. My grandma and I struggled to properly install it from Veteran Medical Supply. The booklet only came with instructions on how to install the handles, not detailing the steps for lip latch or how to secure it with a clamp

Can you take the old seat off?

Does it work if a bidet is on the toilet?

I must transfer from a wheelchair, standing up and turn my body by holding on from right/left turn due to a stroke that effected my left side. Are the handles strong enough to handle such a transfer.

I would strongly recommend a safety frame that actually mounts with bolts to the toilet. It can be combined with a bolt on riser if that is also needed. That would be much sturdier to accommodate that type of transfer consistently.

What is the height for an ADA toilet? All the toilets I was looking at SAY ADA compliant but show 16.5 to the rim. So add a regular seat that goes up a bit more. What is the right height I should be looking for?

A comfort height toilet (aka ADA toilet) will be 16.5-19” to the rim. I love 18” for most people.

That’s pretty standard for the big box stores. I’ve had to special order the taller sizes.

Yes, 16.5” plus the additional height of the seat will work well. I have ordered directly through Kohler in the past for the taller varieties.

Looks like it's only designed for women, unless you know how to control number 1 while you're doing number 2

You can leave it in the up position and it won’t interfere with the installation.

I applied it easy at first. Then it came off and it is not going back on correctly anymore. The back is secure but the front is not clamping on.
