Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
How to install a Honeywell thermostat. How to replace or install a furnace and air conditioner thermostat. There are many different HVAC thermostats out there but the installation process for them all is the same. In this video I install a Honeywell Home thermostat which is a basic digital programmable thermostat. I also show how to bypass the program and make the thermostat maintain whatever temperature you set it to.

Thank you dearly 🥲
I just wanted to comment here and say I followed the instructions verbatim and I still can’t believe I did this on my own and trust me I had no idea what I was doing before. My thermostat is working thank you so much for this video. It was pretty easy to do with your instructions and your response to my questions.

Thanks again for another excellent video! Getting ready to change mine & I always watch your videos before I tackle a new project! The best tutorials online!🙂
Watched your video and it helped me install my new Honeywell thermostat! Couldn't find anyone else to do it. And I'm not a handy person by any stretch. Thank you for your post. Your explanations for precise and awesome.
Thank you so much for your video!! I installed my thermostat in 45 mins and saved $300!! You are awesome ❤
Excellent video. Nice points on spreading the wires out and the "jumper". My thermostat was very old and it had a hard wired jumper. When I 1st looked at it, I was a bit confused but, it all made sense after watching this video. Great video. Nice job. Thanks!
I really enjoy watching all of your videos on KZread. Thanks and keep on doing good job.
I attempted to do this by myself without help and it doesnt kick on my air so here I am 😂 thanks for the video!!! I see where I went wrong, I took the jumper out from r and rc. Huge help!
One of the best how to videos I've watched. You've been a big help. Thanks
Thank you very much for teaching how to work and replace parts in the heater And enjoy with your family your vacation

Great stuff I just bought this exact state and putting it in this weekend. Love your channel.
Awesome video bud. I will be installing the same thermostat in my mother-in-law's home. Your video help me a lot thank you.
Thanks for a nice clear video. If anyone had troubles while using a jeweler's screw driver, etc., those R and Rc screws are hard to turn. You will need a screwdriver with a small slotted bit, but a regular handle for leverage. I was messed up because I was using little screwdrivers to get into those little holes.

Something that really helps me get leverage when using those little screwdrivers is to put rubber gloves on. I just grab my dish gloves and it works like a charm.
Who knew a simple jumper would solve a very frustrating afternoon, thanks so much for the video!
Thank you for this video! It home me fix my AC issue. I am so grateful❤️🤗
Great video, well done, reconnected some wires (green and blue) that contractor had mixed up, and gas furnace works perfectly, saved me a lot of trouble. Thx.
Just used your video to help me change my thermostat. Thank you!!!!!!
Thanks for the useful explanation about the jumper wire. Save the day.
Great video, thank you for the help! I was able to switch out our old thermostat no problem thanks to you🙌🏽
Your explanation about the jumper solved my problem. I couldn’t get heating and AC to both work, and now I see why. Thank you!

Awesome and keep them coming. Im a new maintenance tech so this is super helpful
The thermostat was installed on the first try. Thank you so much for this video!🎉🎉
As far as the wallplate, you can also toenail the screws into the drywall. For those not aware, toenailing is just the carpenter's term for screwing in diagonally. I found this works better than drilling them straight into the sheetrock. Thanks, Jay!

Very well done video; better than the others I watched.
Thanks!! You just helped us with our thermostat
Going attempt to install this exact one in my house today. Thanks for the video! I just subscribed as well.
I have this exact same tstat and it was really easy to do. My only issue was not much play with wires so they barely made it to the terminals.
Thanks. This helped me install my new thermostat.
This is awesome. He produced one of the rare videos that show how to connect the wires with the super tiny screws. You may have to buy a speacl screw driver.
Thank you so much for your video!!! I was able to install my thermostat yay!!!
I appreciate the video….helped me knock it out very easily
Thank you for helping me to save time and money…
You make this look so simple and yet when I first looked at all the wires I freaked out.
This was so helpful thank you sooo much!!!
Awesome, thank you for this video very helpful.

Thank you! I was able to change my house thermostat
legend 😂 your a great teacher. didn't yell at me or even hit me with a ruler, nice lol
Thanks man good stuff. Now to wait and see if it was the old thermostat that was bad or my heating unit lol
I just installed an Ecobee 4 in my home and I HIGHLY recommend it! It required a C-wire and has a handy converter if you don't have one. It would make a great video for you to install.

@@dankelley9361 ecobee makes a "power extender kit" that ranges from $12 to $25 depending on where you buy it. Here's instructions on how to install it for all you non C-wire people. The instructions show it for a Ecobee thermostat. But it can be used on other thermostats just as easily. support.ecobee.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009155051-Installing-your-ecobee-thermostat-with-the-Power-Extender-Kit-no-C-wire-
Hi Jay, thank for your video and nicely clear and simple details, I then upgraded my thermostat from simple digital to smart WiFi honeywell. Our one has 5 wires ( C wire including) I hooked up and followed labels wire code match between those . I have no problem with heat but wonder why upstairs so hot and down stair so cold some vents no heat in which the old one does not have that problem. Can u give me a hint on that ? Thanks Jay .
Thank you! I just did it myself!
Wow, good job! Thank you very much!
Your video is spot on! I have a 4 wire the same configuration. Although I won't buy another Honeywell because after replacing 3 of them in 12 years I've had enough. My wire configuration doesn't have a C wire so can't use a Smart Thermostat without the hassle of getting and installing an PEK extender device. I rent so that won't fly. Will just but a LUX battery operated thermostat replacement. Blue wire in my case as in yours will go to the yellow position. Thank you!
@TwistedLyfofTV

How do you like the Lux? I moved into a house with one that I have nothing but problems with it. No matter what I say the temp on over 67 the unit doesn't kick on and the house gets up to 80. If I set it on any temp lower than 66, the house drops down to 52. I'm used to Honeywell and was considering replacing it with that.

Hey Love ur video Quick question...my furnace turns in blows air and shuts off in like 2-3 mins before reaching the temp on thermostat and continues until it reaches temp....I changed thermostat...what can b issue???
Would you need the jumper wire if you have a separate heating and cooling system for example a furnace for heating and a package ac unit for air conditioning
OUTSTANDING VID & EXPLANATION🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for your help
Thanks very well said ,
Thank you! I ended up using the same one so your advice on not needed the jumper cable was excellent!
If you have a 2 stage 40/70K btu gas heater 95 percent goodman furnace, do you need a special themostat?
Nice job! subbed.
This guy is awesome!
Excellent video. I had to move an alarm keypad out of the way so the faceplate would fully close. Now there’s plenty of room, but the faceplate won’t close flush, despite engaging and working fine, and I’m wondering why that may be. I did see some corrosion buildup on the lower contacts, perhaps that may be causing the issue?
Thank you so much ❤️.
Great video.i liked your clear instructions. I have a heat pump with a fan coil and just installed the wifi Honeywell thermostat. Do I choose the option heat pump with no auxillary/emergency or heat pump with auxillary?
Excellent!
I just got the same Tstat you showed. I have a common wire from my old one so I have 5 wires total. I have a gas furnace/ac. I put the common wire in the B slot and all other wires at there spots. when I turned unit on both the AC and furnace came on. what did I miss or is it a bad tstat out of box? Thanks for the help.
I have a general question my boiler has wiring that only has red and white wiring from the boiler to the living room cause we don't have central air.. is this the proper wiring for a heating unit?
What if I have 5 wires the extra is yellow. Where would that one go? It came out of Y on the last thermostat
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this, I just replaced Google nest with the same model of Honeywell you showed as nest was giving battery discharge msg everyday. I have 4 wires Red, white, black and green, can you please help which one will go where. Thanks in advance
I have 2 red wires on my old thermostat. There is one red wire in each side of the screw on r/c. When I rewire do I put one wire on each side of the jumper?
I have a 4 /5 ton HVAC revercible pomp..how I now wich thermostat I need for it... thankyou for your videos
I have a rth8580wf honeywell thermostat. Can you tell me how or if I can put a 2 degree difference on it. Like if I have heat set on 68 it will kick on when it gets 66 then shut off at 68. Have a 90% natural gas and it tries to maintain 68 at all times and makes unit continually starting up and down. Thanks
Thank you! HVAC guy wanted $350 to do that! Thermostat was $33 at Home Despot!
A true hero
I have a question about my Aprilaire model 8444 thermostat. Why does it make a double click when turning on and off my HVAC system could it be because it's sending a fan call with the heat or cool call
Question on my old one they didn’t have the blue hooked up so I didn’t hook it up they had red , white , yellow and green I hooked them all up
Thank you 🙏
