Word of Advice TV is a channel that is all about useful information! A channel where your time is invested and not wasted :) More than half of my videos are appliance repair related since that is what I went to school for and what I do for work. I make a lot of videos on HVAC repair, how to fix air conditioners, furnaces, water heaters, along with how to videos that show how to install/replace parts. Besides furnace, AC, and other appliance videos I also have videos on product reviews, useful information for life, how to videos, weight-loss, natural remedies, and even some board game tutorials! Always open to suggestions on what videos to make next and I love when you pitch in and share your own tips/suggestions in the comments! Consider joining our word of advice community to learn new things, share your own knowledge, and see what others have to say! See you there ;)

How to hire you to come check my ac units?
The problem is that darn hoes gets so hot! I'd like to have the hose outside and the unit closer to the window, any advice?
Excellent video what’s strange about mine is ½ screen is dim. Inside temp is left hand reads correctly 79f. Set system temp I manually and do not use timer to schedule temperature I just use it for manual up-and-down leave if it’s midday, I’m gonna set it at like 80 or 82 but generally, I keep it between 76 and 78. The right hand side it’s like part of the numbers you can read the first digit you read that it has sent it to 77 or 78 where is the eight or seven part of it halfway disappeared
How do you set the light to come on when you pass it
👍🏼
Could you please send your WhatsApp number to me? I love and appreciate the training.
Worked like a charm on my 19 tear old remote. Thanks
Sorry, but at 6:20 that’s the suction and liquid line. The discharge line is the line that comes out of the compressor after the compressor converts the low pressure low temperature gas into high pressure high temperature gas. The discharge line leads to the condenser coil, and after the condenser coil, the lineset that comes out of the coil is now the liquid line again. The discharge line is only a very small part of the lineset.
You are right! Thank you for the correction. 🙏
I have 5 outlets on the same GFCI. Somehow only 1 in the middle is working.
man thank you so much you are blessed
Definitely Leave the frog! Great video too!
You rock man
Great video. However, while you explained that using an insulated screwed is important to prevent electrical shock, you failed to actually keep your skin off the metal portion of the screwdriver while demonstrating.
One can use a car jack to tip it back
Omg😮💨😬
please tell how to get target subcooling and target superheat? thanks
good job
Thank you Sir
Is the 24volts ac or dc?
Can I switch to manual without connecting to WiFi since I don’t hook it up yet?
I have a Frigidaire installed a new oven igniter an the igniter is not glowing an how would I look for an open circuit
After doing a bunch of other maintenance steps, my AC compressor still wasn’t kicking on. For this video and the 20 other videos I watched, thank you!! This saved us a few hundred bucks on a HVAC service call.
Arent u suposed to measure your superheat line temp at the evap discharge
Very interesting no nonsense video but what about water misting solutions for outdoor unit like 'Cool-n-Save'? I live in India and the temperatures are soaring (yesterday max: 48°C/118°F). Does misting work or would it lead to corrosion in the long term - say 4-5 years?
Jay THANK YOU so much for sharing your AC videos. They are enjoyable, informative and easy to follow. Your videos have tremendously enhanced my comfort level with the operation of my AC. So much so, that I am able to carry a conversation with an AC technician and not feel intimidated. I also feel confident enough to troubleshoot minor issues and/or make minor repairs. Thanks again, you’re the best. I do have a question regarding single pole AC contactors. Is there a certain brand better than others or a brand I should steer away from?
The batteries were the problem the last time but not this time. It's not kicking on. Period. I sprayed off the unit nothing is blocking it.
Who on Earth would have bird crap on the top of the opener is beyond me.
Every time I turn my A/C on it runs then trip my breaker.
No Signal is flashing at the top left.
thank u daddy waddy this actually really helped me and my friend ❤❤❤
Even my AC guy hates the Nest! My husband always said I’d never understand thermostats..way before Nests. He’s looking down & chuckling!
SO helpful! Even my AC guy doesn’t like Nest! Nearly switched to Honeywell today but aesthetically couldn’t🙄
That’ll be $600.
Thank you for all of your videos very informative but have a question I have a two zone heating system gas hot water baseboard and then a few years added a central a/c unit. My downstairs is heat only and my upstairs is heat &ac. If I add a c wire to my down stairs do I need a c wire for upstairs as well. Any help would be appreciated
I had a 14 seer installed when my 10seer 5ton compressor died. Expected a much better electric rate during the summer. I was wrong! $10k for a 14seer 5ton package unit. It saved me a whopping $20 a month on my electric bill! 😱. So overall you can expect a $5 drop in hot climates with every seer you go up. Maybe more now that the rates have doubled due to natural gas shortage and the factor they have not been doing any upgrades to the grids till its an emergency. I knew the rates where going to double last summer so i bought an 18kbtu 22seer solar hybrid mini split. And some solar panels max it could handle and run all day free. Had an electrician install a disconnect box so i could run the higher seer during some of the night. Then Installed it all myself because i have hvac and some electrical experience. It dropped my usage in half and kept my bill a little lower than it used to be. My kwh before was 2000-2200kwh after the install with 110° days 1000-1200kwh for the hottest month. $223 bill instead of the expected $450
I’ve been doing this for 2-3 days and i noticed my feet are slimmer
Hey man how you doing, I want to thank you for the video it's very helpful, by any chance do you have the diagram of how to wire the 2 stage thermostat from the board.. Thank you, or any of you videos where you explain that..
YESSSSSSS
Hi, I replaced the capacitor and the thermostat. Motor will kick on and run for a few minutes than stops. I havnt checked the motor with a meter yet. But it's starting to point towards the motor. Any advice?
My ac started working for only a few hours and then stopping after a tornado and a power outtage. Did this happen to anyone else?
I love you
Ive read in forums so many places that unless you open that garage door the second you start your vehicle, or even before, that you will back draft into your house and kill everyone. They were so set in their ways that no matter what you explained, it was wrong. But then these were people from Toronto, Ontario where they know everyhting about everything. Ive been starting vehicles in my garage and opening my doors a few seconds later for over 20 years, and have never killed myself or others
My heat pump has an ecm condenser fan motor. How would i troubleshoot it ?
I love the fact you included the sounds the unit makes per different scenarios. Very helpful
Jay!! Dude I'm a homeowner and I just saved a couple grand because of you. Bad capacitor! Can't thank you enough, your video helped me diagnose and fix!
can you mention how you set up the gas line to do this please? did you turn it off then on? how long was it off if so? Does it need to be on since there might be residual gas - is there residual gas? etc. And it seems some videos joke about the risks - how serious are the risks in relighting? is this for non pros to do? Seems there is missing information for some novices.
Will this be the same case for 80 AFU Variable Speed Two Stage Gas Furnace (Lennox SL280V)?
Do you have a preference for manufacturer based on quality or failure rate? I use BMI, Amrad and Trade pro.
Ino this is a old video . But. My question is . My AC is set at 80 . And it wound shut off on the auto ..
When I turn my ac off my condenser does not shut down? I have constant 24v at contractor? What should I look to?
