How to Install a Green Drain - Waterless Trap Seal for Floor Drains

How to install a "Green Drain 2 inch" into the floor drain of a shower, this device has the ability to block a lot more than just odors and bugs.
Items:
1. Green Drain 2" | GD2 | greendrains.com/product/green...
2. Screwdriver
3. Nitrile Gloves
Steps:
1. Remove the drain grate with a screwdriver
2. Make sure the floor drain pipe is somewhat clean before installation
3. Install the Green Drain | push 2 - 4 inches into the pipe
4. Make sure to test that the water flows properly before putting back on the drain grate
5. Place the drain grate back on top of the floor drain, fasten screws

    Thank you! At first I thought my Green Drain GD2 was too small as it was not staying put at the top of the drain. With your video I realize that it's intended to be pushed down the drain (recessed) a few inches. You saved me from returning my Green Drain for a larger size :)

    How do you remove it? Isn't the pipe too small to be able to grab it back from there with your hand?

    How do you remove it? It looks like it will be stuck there. Will I ever need to replace it after few years?

    Reach in with a pair of needle nose on the 2 inch and pull it out all the larger sizes most people can put there hand in and pull it out. Replace it yearly in your home.

    In order to fix the puddling, be sure to recess the green drain 2" about 3-4 inches down. this will fix the puddling! example at 0:30

    Everything goes down but no odors come back up as well as it is a backflow preventer and prevents bugs coming out of your drain.
