Hi I have a GSXR 1000 with a Flashtune QS! So I currently run standard shift and wanted to change to GP shift! Your video has answered my question but just to confirm all you need to do is flip the shift rod over but then also connect the other connector from the sensor so it’s pull instead of push or vice versa

On the GSXR you flip the shift knuckle and switch connectors. - Van

According to FT Ecu website, this new style sensor has blue/green for push, and red/yellow for pull. Great install video anyway!

Then they need to update the instructions in their documents section. - Van
So the green and blue wire is for GP shift and the red and yellow wire is for standard?

I may have misspoke in the video. The Red and Yellow is for GP Shift. - Van
Hey Brian, just put this on my R7, I cannot get the GP shift to work, I have tried both connectors and cannot seem to get it to work, any thoughts?

Can be hard to diagnose via KZread comments. I remember it took a few attempts before I was able to get the bike to enable the sensor. I would suggest shooting tech support for FTECU a call if you are not able to sort this out. - Van
Do you know why the thread would break for the small threaded piece of the kit at the top? I have the kit for a 2018 gsxr 1000 and the small piece keeps ripping threads and I have had to get 2 replacements

Not 100% sure what you are referring to. When you assemble the shift rod you need to have a minimum of 5mm of the male end threaded into the female end. Anything less and you will most likely run into issues. - Van
Great videos bud, they really help. My son just purchased an 2022 R7 that came with the OEM quick shifter, can he change it to GP shift?

I am not familiar with the OEM quick shifter. My expectations are they would be doing something similar to what FTECU has done with theirs and provide a push/pull sensor. I would recommend a quick Google search to see if any other riders have used the OEM sensor in GP shift. - Van
I'm thinking of using the FlashTune Universal Shift Rod Kit for a different application. (RC 390 with Dynojet quickshifter, Tyga rearsets and Gray Area shift arm) I need 6mm threads for the studs and the Dynojet linkage options won't work for me to get the proper length. I can't find the specs for the FlashTune kit in any of the product descriptions on any site where I've seen the kit. I see it is out of stock with you. Regardless, do you know if the threads are 6mm on the FlashTune linkage kit? If not, I will look for a different solution. Thanks.

Call Woodcraft @ 978-297-2977. Explain to them what you need and they will get you sorted out. (I do not know what is in the FTECU kit). - Van
Hi STG-Crew - one question: I've got cooling hoses made of aluminium on my race bike. The only rubber part are the ones which are plugged into the radiator. Is there another way to get the air completely out of the system. Unfortunately the GSX-R 1000 L7 hasn't got a vent bolt. Best regards Chris

If you are not able the flex the hoses and there is no drain bolt at the low spot you can fill the radiator and let it sit a bit with the cap off allowing gravity to do it's thing. Top it off and run the bike up to operating temp, let it cool off then check the level. - Van
do you believe a ecu tune/flash should be and mod done first for a bike before you start messing with intake/ block off plates ect. like a top priority

If you are going to take the bike to the dyno you should install all the parts you plan to install first. - Van

Yes you can install this kit without flashing the ecu. - Van
The instructions are not very informative. How do you know which way is up un the sensor. Is the wire on top or bottom. Thanks

IMO it makes the most sense to run the sensor with the wire facing towards the front of the bike so you are not having to fold the harness over. - Van
will you be doing any airbox mods?

We will be doing airbox mods along with several others as we continue to build this bike. - Van
