I went down during a little u-turn once wearing Reax Fulton street boots, sandwiched my foot under my CB500F (410lb). The ankle pad made a red circle so i know it saved it, but only from serious fracture... i came out with a small fracture on the inside edge of the mid foot, and TONS of bone bruising throughout my entire foot and ankle area. Still hurts a drop sometimes, a year later. Two months in crutches, 4-5 months pt. Basically, it's a little bit protective (better than a crushed foot and ankle), but it's far from enough to keep me comfortable. Now I wear SMX Plus V2.

I tried it and although I have a 58cm head and wear Medium in every other helmet (racing helmets only) I was aching quite. So I tried Large and it was good. Not so much sporty fit, but the forehead ache of the Medium was unbearable after wearing 10 minutes standing. Have you experienced that? Do you have to go size up if you are between Medium and Large?

Good morning. I am 75, not a hard rider, only ride streets and highways. I’m interested in good protection, but I need a wide toe base bc my pinkie toes get irritated with contact with the side of the boot. Any recommendations for me? Thank you.

Hello Van - great review! I just bought the same Techair 7x airbag vest last Saturday. Since than I'm unable to create an account in Techair App, continuously get Error Code : 39. I'm from Hungary, EU and using a Samsung Galaxy S23+ as mobile, but tried it on Samsung Galaxy A54 with same results. I contact all available options at Alpinestars like "talk-to-us" or "techairsupport", website "contact us" section even the website chat without success. Than the dealer told me that A* are facing with some issues and many people is having same problem nowadays, since 2 weeks. Are you guys having the same issue in US ? if not do you maybe have some info from A* US whether they make something differently ? Thanks for reply in advance!

I've been riding with the Arai Contour-x for 4 weeks now after a gruelling search for my new lid, so I'll give you all the highs and lows... Highs: 1) This thing is SOO unbelievably comfortable. It's like pushing your head into a velvet condom. (And that's a good thing!) 2) It's light. Real light. The reviews say the weight is on the higher side, but I find it remarkably light. Almost AGV light. 3) The ventilation is crazy good. You live in a hot climate? This thing is going to keep you cool. 4) My glasses go in with ease and sit on my nose. In fact, easier than any other AGV, Shoei or Shark helmet I've worn in the past. 5) It's got a smaller footprint than my old GT-Air... no bobblehead effect in a size XL. 6) It is beautiful. The Arai craftsmanship is stunning. I got the Face graphic, and I find myself just staring at the thing. 🙂 Lows: 1) Hot dang, it's expensive! The most money I have ever spent on a lid, but I keep them a long time so that's life. 2) WITH ALL THE VENTS OPEN, there is a lot of wind noise. But you see, ventilation requires moving air. Moving air is not quiet. When you close the two small top vents, it quiets down considerably. If you want a silent lid, go with the Shoei GT-Air 2 or 3. 3) The visor mechanism takes some getting used to. I have an old Arai Vector-2, so I'm used to it. Not a deal-breaker. 4) No photochromic shield available as of writing this. It's okay, I own sunglasses. ------------- Regrets: Zero Wallet: Hurting Final thoughts: Brian Van is a Living Legend. Seriously. Thank you boss.

It looks like you did not re-install the stock judder springs, would there be any advantage to running the wider friction plate seeing as there is now room for it?

Even cheap levers can be fine, you just need to check their assembly carefully prior to fitting them, and then test them in a controlled manner. If the premium ones were sensibly priced, the chinese wouldn't have so many customers would they?

I picked up a Sena unit to install in my GT Air II. I watched about a dozen videos and I think yours does the best. Though for something that is supposedly "designed" to fit in the helmet it is not very well integrated in my opinion. So, far I have spent about 4 hours and still cannot get the installation correct. I will try some more but will most likely just return the unit. Both Shoei and Sena should be ashamed of this design.

thanks for the video, was able to do the installation myself. Question, minute 20:20 would not plugging that hole affect the intake air pressure sensor that is located close to it? I have this issue where the RPMs go up and down, engine stall when coming to a stop and idle issues, and am thinking that hole not being plugged might be the issue. The issue was there before I installed block off plates. I noticed the unplugged hole while installing them.
