    Nice paint, I need to repaint mine. I have 2000 TRD Tundra with less than a 100K, no rust (in the SW). It was the only year the motors were built in Japan. I'm taking it to the grave along with my 99 4R. For the way I use the truck I need to put Airbags on the back to be able to load my bike without major squat.

    Yeah, airbags could work or maybe just go with different leaf springs that give you some lift and a positive rake. When you load your bike on the back, you'll most likely come level and you're all good.

  • @TimmyTheToolman

    @TimmyTheToolman

    11 ай бұрын

    I am pretty sure dropping the oil pan on a 1st Gen Tundra 4x4 will be the same as dropping a pan on any independent front suspension Toyota 4x4. The front differential needs to come out to give you the necessary room to drop the pan. Getting the differential out is most of the work. Once it's out, you remove the bolts and nuts that hold the pan to the block. Then, you use a pan separator tool or a skinny flexible putty knife to get between the pan and block and start working the pan loose. You get the pan off. You clean the pan and block surfaces. Finally, you reseal with some Toyota 103 FIPG. I hope this helps.

    If the clunk didn’t start until after your lift, it could have exposed some worn parts on your rig like control arm bushings etc… but I would go back and check all the components you installed first to see if there are any loose fasteners. - Sean

    @@johncalebsteele I'm not buying what that shop is telling you based off the time you said the parts have on them. Lower control arms don't need to be completely replaced unless they are rusted out. You just replace the bushings. Tie rods need to be replaced when there's play in the joints. Steering racks only need to be replaced if the leak is very significant. If the leak isn't that bad, keep an eye on the power steering fluid level and drive on. Shocks don't go bad that quick either.
