    Jim, great videos. I installed a digital T-stat per your video, best thing i ever done. P68 is in the basement, we leave basement door open, it works fine. With the T-stat on the first floor I no longer runup and down the stairs to set the stove. Just set it and forget about it. Great idea! Thanks. Gil 15:56

    Mine too, 15 years also. I’ve only had to replace the distribution motor a few years back and just now my 15 year old combustion motor, it's running better than I can recall. These videos have literally been the answer to some prayers. Fixed income here so DIY is all I can do and these videos have helped me do the near impossible and saved my peace of mind big time! Quick tip I discovered on my own. If replacing the distribution motor that fan blade assembly's Allen nut you can forget about removing, they get fused solid. I put a thin fiber cutting wheel on my angle grinder, went straight in like 12 and 6 O'clock on the motor shaft (all from inside the stove front) and split it past the fan assembly and Allen nut. A screwdriver wedged it right off and I was good to go. Literally 10 seconds and the fan propeller was off versus hours and lots of WD-40 to no avail. God bless this man for being the answer to prayers and making a huge difference in a stranger's life.❤

    With our weather here, the only time you hear the word "burnpot" is when cannabis is involved. I have always wondered how a "pellet stove" worked. Not sure how wires and plastic connectors can survive being inside a stove though. As for an igniter I guess it is some kind of resistance heater to warm the fuel up till it can combust.

    Thanks for watching, I also am not 100% how it all work but it sure keeps my house toasty warm. There is auger to feed the fire, blower fans to blow the hot air, and another fan to blow the exhaust outside. One thing I really like is that I only have to check it once a day. My old wood burner I had to check about 3 times a day.

    Well Jim, We just bought a P61 after running the Pellet Pro II for 20 some odd years. The PP2 still runs. It’s just that we are getting long in the tooth and as a precaution felt it best to upgrade. In all those years we never had the burn pot do what yours did. So I’m thinking it’s a sign of the times . Make em cheaper. Use thinner gauge. Should be ok? Don’t think so. We paid $6000 CDN for this stove and in all honesty the PP2 is still equal. Sure the P61 has bells and whistles but in the long run it still only heats as good as the PP2.

    I replaced my burn pot on my p43 about a month ago, I was told by my dealer the burnpot was called & over fire pot & I had to use a different gasket because it has air flow channels in the burnpot that keeps the fire away from the back area were the fire brick & to push the flame forward your old burnpot has those channels and the gasket you used closed off those channels. Just thought I would pass along that information. How this makes sense

  • @CraigMommer
    @CraigMommer Жыл бұрын

    Nice video. About two years ago, I changed the burn pot which developed a large hole which did the same thing again. I run about three to four tons per year over the past seven years or so. As a precaution, I also changed the igniter last time. Is that normal?

  • @DIYJIM

    @DIYJIM

    Жыл бұрын

    Really not sure what is normal. I think it depends on the type of pellets and how hot you burn it.

    I have a plate under the burn pot with 2 wing nut type thumb screws that adjusts that plate tight or loose, How do you set yours? I have tried loose and tight. The flame gets long and softer when its loose, the opposite occurs when tight.

  • @DIYJIM

    @DIYJIM

    good video Jim,, 1 question.. was your burning quality or flame different because of the condition of the burnpot? didn't look that bad from the video... also, little tip I learned changing out the ignitor.. before i pull the 2 wires forward from the back, I mark them with a magic marker so that when they get pulled back in the end, you pull to the marks u made. this way you know they are in the same exact spot they we're before you pulled them. avoids any fears of Pinched wires.
