@@SkyManagement I legit bought a hood fan and had it installed within 15 minutes of being home because watching your video gave me the info (and confidence) to do it. This task has been looming over me for like 2 years. We had like an old 1990s white-yellowed hoodfan with cracks on it, lightbulbs would routinely just burn out after a month or so, and the fan sounded like a jet engine. Thanks again for the great video

my hood is of this type .. the light switch broke so I was trying to figure out how to fix that but seeing this I realize the fix is to swap out the entire hood as it's not expensive and easy to do

Thanks for a great instructional video. Ours is also recirculating, It is hardly used but seeps oily residue down the tiles, so it must be really dirty. It is 19 years old. Cleaned it as much as I can, so time to just replace it to prevent a hood fire.

I see ducted and ductless on home depot of this same design which I also have ... is there a way to tell if it's ducted/ductless before taking the whole thing off ? would be nice to know before so I can order it and wait for it to come before I take it off .. but I'll take it off if I have to obviously

I just seen a video where someone wired in an old extension cord into the range hood wires. So they cut and stripped the extension cord and wired one side with the white and one side with the black. Then plugged in the extension cord. Hope this is clear

If you are asking where you can "get this" just go to any big box store like Lowes or Home Depot. You can also get it from an appliance store. (I believe we got ours from Metro Appliances and More in Springfield Missouri)

There is a screw (usually green) near where the wires come in. You wrap the wire around the screw and tighten it down.

To the green screw inside the wire housing. Ground (bare copper wire) just wraps around the green grounding screw.

I got no wiring coming out the wall, instead all's I got is a an old flappy florescent light maybe i can commandeer the wiring off it jeez I hope I don't set myself on fire my hands might be smokin on this one stay tuned
