anyone who uses the stupid bath brackets is a mug . put 50mm by 25mm batten to support the underside edge of the bath ( all 3 sides ) then drop vertical batten to support from the batten to the floor. Does anyone know that a bath filled with water alone is the weight of 6 10 stone people ? approx 420kg ??? 1mm of movement after fitting = a leaking bath with a shower above. ESPECIALLY A PLASTIC BATH. FITTED TO A PLASTERBOARD WALL.

How high should the bath waste be out the wall 80mm
Fill the bath with water before silicon mate save movement in bath after.
The over the top scream while lifting the bath out was outstanding.

Hi, Thanks for the vid, did you use the same glue to seal the plug hole as you did to glue the bath to the wall? If so what glue was it again? Is it okay to use on the threads of drainage pipes for extra seal? Thanks, Karl
FABsolutely LEGEND ...
Thanks for your tutorials, have been watching all your videos on plumbing tips, and it has given me the confidence to remove my sink and toilet. Embarking on the bath next.
brilliant :)
Hi is there a need of wood support or wood frame with this type of bath or are the clips sufficent enough to support the bath?
have you used any heat exchangers on a link up of a stove into an exsisting heating system if so what do you use ?

Hi mate good clear fun video I put a new overflow /drain pipe in plus waste trap trap is ok but it's still leaking is it due to no sealant? We are looking into a new bathroom suite but in the mean time need that leak stopped on the plastic part the overflow pips attaches to there is a bigger lip on one end is that the end that faces upwards ? Any help is appreciated thanks

Great video as always PP, you became our first port of call during our whole bathroom revamp process. We have got the same gap between the end of the bath and the wall, like you have in this video - what shall we do with it? Cheers. Ruoxi
So after you've levelled the bath, you can then offer the panel up and find it doesn't fit. Alternatively you offer the panel up first and once you've got the correct height, then you can level the bath up. Saves a lot of messing about if you do it right from the start!
@doma5262
Жыл бұрын
Exactly 😅😅😅😂😂😂 or its custom panel time. Tbh tiled panels look decent
Great vid, well presented and made me chuckle too. Now I just have to fit the bath and keep the foul language down. Easier said than done.
Like the video. I notice you didn't do a wooden supporting frame for extra support. Is a wooden supporting frame over-engineering ?
lool the mj part cracked me up
A mahoooosive thumbs up for the lever valve with a nice long handle in those hard to reach and create any torque with finger areas! A small plastic handle valve and dare I saw it a flat head screw driver valve would be a nightmare in an emergency! Have you done a video before exclusively on installing a combination overflow and waste on a bath, I know it's kind of explained here but would love to see. Dedicated updated James version! Cheers, thumbs up
Hiya, we’re thinking of getting a vintage claw foot bath does the same apply
nice video - however how do you deal with walls which are not square? I am trying to fit a bath into a corner but it aint square. What do you recomend? Should I cut into the plaster?
Nice
What overflow do you use if the overflow hole is large (52mm) - same size as plug hole?
Hiya I want to put in a wet room however I have wooden joists and the shower waste pipe needs to go through the joist.can you drill nogging through a joist?
Hello. Liking your videos. Would like to ask an opinion if possible. Just about to fit my first pop up bath waste. It has some lovely thick rubber washers. Will these be enough for the plug side of the bath and just silicone under like you have in this video. Or is it best to silicone all parts. It looks like a good seal but don’t want any leaks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 👍matt
could you do a video, how to install the waste on a free standing bath with a first floor install, newly qualified 6129. I am installing it at my own home not sure how to tackle the waste connection.
Cheers pal
Just wondering can you drill the tap holes before installing. Also what is the best size of hole saw to use. Thanks.
That bath usually has some plastic L brackets that screw round the wall..then the bath drops onto them...mind u there a pain...I often run a batten round the bath so it can't drop with weight of water...check out my bath install to see where them L brackets normal go, on a bath with wood...plus extra seal
Do you have any advice on securely connecting the trap to the waste underneath the bath - the plastic compression nut of the trap comes off the waste thread (also plastic) a bit too easily for my liking. Should I put some silicone on the thread of the bath waste before tightening the trap compression nut on ? cheers
Can i ask you why you didn`t baton the bath to the wall like you did in your other video of fitting a bath? Cheers
Hi what did you seal the plug and waste with? was it Silicon?
Great stuff mate, the only thing i would do differently would be getting the bath out the doors 😜
I have a large deep bath and I want to swap for a smaller one......How easy is it to do?
Is there any benefit in chasing into the wall before the install?
great videos have watched loads on here packed full of information, quick question what sealent are you using on the bath waste? does it matter what type?

Great thanks for the video excellent. I am tiling my bathroom floor, I wondered if its better to tile underneath the bath or is it not necessary? Thanks.

There is no point it tiling under a bath IMO. Why do that??? :-)
How did you screw the feet in nearer to the back wall? I am about to put a bath in a 1690mm gap. I am using a 1700mm bath so I think chisel out a bit of plaster board. But once in place I can't see how I can get at the far feet
Awesome, mate! Informative and entertaining :) You've got to go to X factor! Because of the voice, obviously :)

I have acquired two push-fit Flexi,s for connecting to the bath taps, they seem like good quality, But the two i am removing have the standard nut and olives one for the hot which is standard 22m copper, and the cold that has a 15mm to 22mm reducer on it , I look inside the Flexi, and there is only one sealing ring, they look all good but for some reason, being old school I have my doubts , can you possibly advise, me, Yes i do realize everyone is using Flexi, after all, they actually come connected on the monoblock basin tap, cheers anyway mate .
Hi what bathtub is that? Looks great nice and wide
Was looking for help with the taps, there's a white connection beneath mine that needs taking off and I have no idea how to do it
we have laid new floor boards so do we need our bath on wooden blocks?
