I bet your Ninja is going to go to 100,000 miles. Thanks for this video series. I'm continually amazed at your work and contribution to our little community. I've got 9500 on my Ninja and I haven't adjusted my valves. I feel like I need to clean my carbs. Do you have a video on rejetting the carbs?

I'm about to hit 36000km on my 2010 ninja 250r. Bought this used at 30000km on it. It runs great, sounds great and starts without any problem. Chains, body, shocks and all are in great shape for a 30k km bike! Problem is i haven't heard anything about maintenance done in this bike by the previous owner. So far i only changed the tires, brake pads and rotors, greased all needed to be greased, removed tank for rust removal, and all other periodic easy maintenance. Engine, haven't opened it yet. Too time consuming and i have no tools! Watching your videos though makes it looks easy, but you could've speed up the bolt removal processes for the not ao critical parts. Still thanks!

Sorry to be a pain but I have another question. On my bike the cam sprockets or labeled in and ex but the sprocket labeled in is on the exhaust side(front of engine) and the ex is at the intake side(rear). I guess its correct because the bike runs fine but I thought that was odd. I will put it back how it is but I'm curious if that's how they all are. Thanks again.

thank you so much for this video series and all your videos. It really inspires a lot of confidence going into these projects and with such meticulous detail so to save the viewer so much time preventing needless mistakes. Kawasaki should hire you to make videos for all their bikes, and provide you with different bikes for free ;) Also, i have a question about the holder plates. Is it necessary to have this tool to reinstall the cam chain tensioner? I can't seem to find one online and would rather not have to make one. would it be possible to just hold the tension down with my own grip and the help of a screwdriver? maybe i would need a second set of hands while i do it?

The screwdriver would have to be short because the back of it would not fit into the small space. I would take the dimensions of the cct holder and ask a metal worker to make it?

Ok forget my last question. I see that they have both in and ex stamped on them

I don't think that I stated it because I wanted to encourage people to get a service manual before attempting this work. In any case, it is 106 in-lb.

Hey man. I've got a question. What do I do if I've skipped some teeth on my time chain:crank. Basically my paint marks on the chain:cams are now useless and I don't have a photo or reference for the cam position at 2T. What are my options?

Hello, great videos, but one question: What is the torque for the camshaft cover screws?

  • @ninja250motorcyclemaintena7

Do you mean the camshaft cap bolts and side cap bolts (106 in-lb) or are you referring to the cylinder head cover bolts (87 in-lb)?

  • @alexjulioaleixandre1162

I mean the 8 screws of the cylinder cover (4 per cylinder) and the 4 screws of the camshaft chain. Thanks.

Those are called cap bolts. They should be 106 in-lb, all 12 of them.
