    @Coghiller you dont curl your glove side up like that, you get it perpendicular to your target with your thumb down. and why would you sit so far down? it makes your ball flatter and hitters will stroke it on a more consistent basis opposed to a ball with downward angle on it when you do an inside load.

    There have been too many studies that show the balance point does not promote good accuracy you need to come with momentum into that lift and explode into the extension of the knee back leg and hip flexor keeping the torso back which creates hip to shoulder separation then releasing with maximum external rotation and extending hard not snapping down snap down slows down and pronating to finish don't listen to the info above look at the pros they don't use the info in that video

    I agree with most of this except for stopping at the balance point part, when you teach your pitcher to do this they usually take it literally and pause completely stopping all the momentum they have created until this point thus losing 1 mph or more.

  • @hocheye
    @hocheye12 жыл бұрын

    Pushing off is good but make sure you stride out pushing your hip towards home plate and not just stepping out, keep your front side closed as long as you can and then when your front foot lands bring your glove into your chest and turn your hips squaring up to home plate and bring your arm through head up landing in a good position to field the ball.I see so many pitchers falling off to one side or not following through making them come upright as the front foot lands.

  • @MrJmkboro8
    @MrJmkboro812 жыл бұрын

    One other way to add a good 2-3 mph is to keep your wait back as long as you can and then use your back leg to push off. I'm a pitcher and im only 5'6 and im throwing faster than kids 6'0. you will also have arm trouble if you do not push off your back leg because you are only using your elbow, forearm, and shoulder. you will also improve stamina

    See Kerry Wood/Mark Prior/Stephan Strasburg/ AJ Burnett they all throw with there elbow well above there shoulder just before they release the ball thus all the surgeries it puts a huge amount of strain on your elbow and forearm.Try keeping your elbow above your shoulder as you throw and it wont take long for the pain to start.

  • @Thesteeke
    @Thesteeke12 жыл бұрын

    You can also have arm injuries from having a late arm and your elbow not being above your shoulder. There are many reasons for your arm hurting besides just not using your legs

  • @TheMustardPimp

    Keep your index and middle finger close, not seperated like they show in the video. The wind will get between your fingers on release and generate resistance against velocity if you spread your fingers.

    @SadegoGG Don't know what that has to do with the pause that was mentioned I'm merely stating that young kids take verbal instruction literally. Movement of the baseball is a physical thing and can be achieved by merely adjusting your grip however I see your point and do teach them to get in tune with their own body movement by practicing Yoga.

    @ELCONdaMAN Mind is movement, body is the manifestation of movement. Movement is not a physical thing, its a mental thing. People are not physical bodies. They are activity that is housed in a physical body. This activity is an expression of the mind. Mostly of the inductive/deductive conscious mind and the deductive subconscious mind. This idea is called paradigms, which control the results of players. Physical movement is done most effectively through establishing a feeling and endpoints.

    @ELCONdaMAN Do you teach 'your' pitchers what movement is and how movement is created effectively? Or do you look at a hitters physical body and explain to 'your' pitchers what the physical body should look like...then you have 'your' pitchers go on and replicate what you can see as closely as possible? If you do this, you are making a huge mistake. People are not physical beings, and movement isn't a physical thing. The body is merely a manifestation of movement.

    @ELCONdaMAN The only conscious aspects of full body physical movement is establishing a certain feeling in the upper back and directing that feeling to a series of endpoints. In hitting and pitching there are two endpoints. Mechanics do not work. They violate the laws of movement and they are under the assumption that body is movement. See, mechanics are reversing the equation. I don't really see how yoga can develop hitters/pitchers...but good luck with that one.

    Nothing about hips? Nothing about separation? Makes you a pretty credible coach... also why would you rock back to create momentum when you want to reach a balance point at leg lift? People don’t rock back in the stretch and they still generate power.
