How to identify, harvest, and cook Pheasant Back Mushrooms

In this adventure we go out for Morel Mushrooms but return with Pheasant Backs (which grow in the EXACT same conditions and times). I discuss the methods used to identify these mushrooms, how to harvest them, and how to prepare this wonderful mushroom as well.
Do I think they're better than Morel Mushrooms? Stick around till the end to find out.
Disclaimer: I am not an expert in wild mushrooms. There are risks associated with the ingestion of wild edibles. therefore proper training in the identification and uses of these edibles are critical. This video is provided for entertainment, and I assume all risk associated with my consumption of these wild edibles. I do not assume any risk for those who attempt the same.

This is exactly what I did this morning, went hunting for Morels and found a bunch of pheasant back instead. And I got about 20# of them, so I get to share them with my family and neighbors. 😊

I really like these! But you gotta get them young, or else they're a bit tough for my liking. I will say that they impart a superb flavor to any broth - a great ingredient to throw in for extra umami flavor.

"better than morels" is a bit of a reach. The general consensus is that pheasants back/dryads saddle is a consolation prize when you cant find anything else tasty to bring home
