Yeah I do mine in the front yard. Try to make the figures hang from stuff or interact with the grass. These photos aren’t all about effects you know.

Hi Jared from Canada Eh!! I wanted to say how much of a fan I am of your work. I'm 46 and a lifelong genre fan, star was highest among my fandoms. I've started working on what will either be a Star Wars Fan Film or what I'm calling a Fan PhotoComic. I'm not a film student, just a dude who wants to tell an Epic Looking Star Wars Scale story in the universe, and I'll be using every trick in the book I can think of to make it Look like a big budget feature. Your work helped guide me in the direction I wanna go. I'll be spending the next 2 years in Preproduction because so far..its just me. I'm gonna need actors (friends) I've an editor tentatively, their costumes and armors...and 12 inch, 6 inch and 3.75 inch star wars figures to help fill out the Forced Perspective illusions to populate the backgrounds with for wide and long shots. I'll be making drive by scenery for speeder bikes out recycled boxes and dollar store led string lights (check out Wylocks Armory or Black Magic Crafts for DIY miniature crafting). How far I get with it will depend on how much help I can get from whoever wants to take part. Less help then probably photo comic, more help and fan film. Well specific a series of short episodes not unlike the trooper fan film I.M.P.S. the Relentless. I have various scales of production in my head for this from having All the possible help needed to pull it off to again very little. But among those ideas is a Silly one, bit one I wanted to test the waters with here. I was thinking about inviting some of my favorite KZreadrs to participate in some fashion or another. Could be for technical reasons behind the camera for making it, to being in armor playing a character or just background with only their voices and a few lines to give them away. So I'd like to ask you here now...if this gets traction and starts to move, would you be interested in participating in my project?

I absolutely love the videos

It's a good idea, once you dip something IN, to wipe away any paint left on the surface with wadded up paper towel or newspaper, then pul the item OUT.

That turned out awesome! How are the joints working afterwards? Cause I've had some figure joints lock up after paint.

The joints are fine! I was surprised also! They were a bit stiff at first, but once you break them in, they’re fine!!!

Hey my man! Thank you so much!! It’s an honor to know I could help you get into toy photography 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I’m using a canon Rebel t6! It’s a relatively cheap camera and works great! The yellow, is just a rubber skin from amazon! 😁

I think you need to do a imperial stormtrooper battlel toy photography and the hydro figure will be in the lead

Do you have any tips on how to prevent the environment you photograph in (e.g. plants and whatnot) to catch fire? I really want to try some sparklers but I'm just worried something will catch fire. Awesome tutorial btw!

Thanks dude! Great question! I very often will pour lots of water down before I shoot! It gives a cool reflective surface and it will also make things a bit safer when using fire! Stay safe dude!
