How to heal a broken heart

This video is so different from any video I have previously put out, but I really felt like I should take the risk and put it out there. I am NOT a healthcare professional. I can only share my experiences with others and pass along the knowledge I've been given.

Helloooo! I few things I didn’t mention in the video: Healing is a process. It doesn’t happen overnight. As we go up in levels of self development we uncover new layers. It isn’t something we should “navel gaze” about or spend too much time “searching” for things to be healed in us, but rather be conscious of the things that we need to release and heal as they come up. We should never judge the emotions that come up to be healed but instead acknowledge them and make space for them to be felt followed by surrendering any unforgiveness attached to them. I truly hope this was helpful for people. I wish you all the best on your journey to unbecoming all that you’ve been told you are, as you come into alignment with your highest and best version of yourself. So much love love to you! ❤️

Thank you for this! I think I have almost gotten addicted to hating certain people in my life, almost like a self-righteous feeling. But it is my own shame I suffer from, feeling ashamed for certain situations, and I try to turn the tables in my head, making them feel ashamed instead. They probably dont care, and they have moved on - probably hurting other people. This fuels my anger even further. Its a vicious cycle and some days I feel rage and resentment, and I am sure it takes a toll on my stress levels and physical health. I tried the exercise you guided us through, and started crying. I could not forgive those people, maybe someday in the future, but I was able to feel forgiveness towards myself, for wasting so much time and energy on being angry and bitter. I guess that is a start! :) Thanks again!!

You made the right choice to try though! That’s what’s important. I’m proud of you for taking the courage to try. I’m also glad to hear you were able to forgive yourself. Sometimes that’s the hardest person to forgive. You’ll see freedom from this. You’re already self aware so that means you’re on the right track and in the midst of the process of healing already. Sending you lots of love!

You are a lovely person. I liked your video. It really was a different, but this video is also important. I have a broken heart too, and I feel bitterness and hate towards some people from my childhood. I understand the importance of forgiven and I'm still working on it. After 35 years I have found something but there are still a lot pain and hate in my heart. I think the prosess will never end, but I know it's possible to ease these difficult feelings. I hope you have interest to make more these videos. I find these videos very important. Althought my childhood was very difficult and I had a bad start, I can also say, I have learnt a huge amount of things about life and living. Oh this sure WAS for me, it came right when I needed it. I´m holding a grudge for my ex who replaced me in 3 months after leaving me, though we were together for almost 10 years. It´s still hard to believe, it´s hard to believe that it isn´t my life anymore and someone else is there for him when I truly believed we´d be together till the end. I did this exercise with tears streaming down my face and really tried to forgive him. Will do this as many times as needed, I don´t want to feel this way anymore. Thank you, I hope I will succeed!

I was discarded on Dec 24th but I was trying to break up with the man even before that I believe because I saw some really toxic behavior in him and was dreaming some really bad dreams about him. Of me walking away or him moving away. It ended on Christmas and it took me a long long time to be present and sober. Today I had a job interview and I did not want to go but I kept telling myself “just show up and do the next best thing.” So that’s what I did and I ended up getting a job that day.

My key to forgiveness is remembering that trauma breeds trauma. If somebody causes you trauma, they, more than likely, come from a line of trauma themselves. I agree that self awareness is very important. I was damaged as a child and I have been hurt as an adult, but I have definitely caused pain, as well. I lost eight years of my life, in a daze over what I thought was a "broken heart" until I realized that it was deeper than that and went much further back than eight years. I recognized that I was laying blame where it didn't belong and that I was also making some major mistakes, then this philosophy of forgiveness and self awareness began to form and I haven't looked back. That's my long winded way of saying that this is a very important video. Awesome job, once again ;)

the unforgiveness (poison) you keep to make them feel bad, doesn´t affect them, but poisons only yourself. I know that in theory. but sometimes it can be so hard to forgive. I´ve got a very scarred heart. I think I´m too sensitive. my "wall" or "shield" is almost impenetrable. but I should give it a try. thank you, rachel. best wishes from germany.

So true! Thanks for sharing your experience. It takes courage to even try, so I am proud of you for that! It’s not an easy thing to do by any means but if you set the intention to forgive it will come in time. Also, about being “too sensitive”, you might be what’s called a Highly Sensitive Person (it is scientifically a thing) or an Empath. These are actually superpowers! But we need to learn healthy boundaries because we do seem to “feel” more than others. At times it can seem like a curse but in reality when we learn to use it to our advantage we can be vessels for healing. There are a lot of videos about HSP’s and Empath’s on YT. I recently discovered I was an Empath and it made my whole life make sense. Sending you so much love from Texas!

The problem with forgiving, say if someone screwed you out of money, is you're still wrongly without the money, and you're effectively REWARDING the person that did it! Thus, they'll only be encouraged to go do it again to you or someone else! Same with relationships. If your partner cheats on you and you forgive, they'll just do it again. I don't recommend always just leaving the relationship. Rather, see if you can fix it first. Try to understand the other person's feelings and actions and see if you can have some compassion. Then, see if you can agree on a solution. With time you'll see if that person's motivated and sincere and able to keep his word. THAT should indicate if you can forgive. If not, then break up and forgive YOURSELF by saying, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." If you WERE fooled twice, forgive yourself still, learn from it, and vow not to be fooled a THIRD time. In general, it's SO-O-O much easier to just find a new love that ALREADY has the qualities you want than to try to train your old love to have them. Some might argue you can't just find a new father, mother, brother, sister, or grandparents. You CAN though - they're called FRIENDS. Don't let social norms tell you you have to have a loving relationship with any of these people if your hearts and minds really aren't in it. That just wastes everyone's time they COULD be spending with more like-minded people. I'm not saying push them out of your life completely. Rather, just limit your interaction to subjects and issues you harmonize on.
