How to have a FASTER & EASIER LABOR // Natural Birth Tips // Stations of Baby Pt.2 // awerkingmama

Do you know how to move during labor?!
Please please please don't just go into labor thinking that it is time to squat and lunge until a baby is born - THAT IS NOT EFFECTIVE.
The best way to labor is effectively and intentionally. You must labor and move based on where your baby is in the pelvis...This is how you have a faster and easier labor. But, how do you know? Do you have to get cervical exams?
Nope! If you choose to, go ahead, but it's not always necessary.
All you need to do is follow your body's lead to know what station your baby is actually at and then move accordingly (stay tuned for episode 3 next Tuesday to know how your body tells you the station of baby)!
Nonetheless, let's not waste our time or energy laboring since nobody wants this to take longer than it needs to. While some babies may need some more time and support in certain stations or positions, these positions are a great place to start. Just make sure you are giving yourself time to rest as well since this is a marathon and not a sprint.
Stay tuned for Part 3 of this series where I will discuss how to know what station your baby is in without cervical exams!

Huh, it turns out I'm doing a lot of the right things just while being out and about with my toddler in the course of the day. No wonder this kid is sitting like it's gonna fall out any moment at only 36 weeks. My pelvis and back are killing me, lol.

So so so helpful! One question, when should we head to the hospital? Is it when the baby is at a positive station or 0 station? I watched one of your videos on this and you said to wait until contractions are 3:1:1 (among other factors). What about the pelvis station?

Is there anything we need to do to ensure baby is in a good position before trying to move baby down or these movements also help move baby into optimal position?

  • @awerkingmama

These positions definitely encourage good position but you can also walk, do inversions and sit on your birth ball instead of a chair.

They can’t control what position you are in. Unless baby is in distress, you can move about as needed. They normally leave you alone to labor anyway.

There's a thing called belly mapping that can help you know the position of your baby! In labor, it's also helpful to understand baby's station. I have a video series on this. Check it out!
