How to Handle Unemployment Anxiety

In this episode, I discuss Anxiety and Unemployment. The economic impact of COVID-19 has resulted in a large number of people losing their jobs. Now life during a global pandemic is stressful enough, but when you add more layers of problems (like financial uncertainty) into the mix, it’s no wonder we are seeing a dramatic spike in mental health issues across the board. Now I speak from experience when I say that losing a job can seem like the end of the world, especially when it happens unexpectedly.
But it is critical to maintain perspective and realize that this moment is simply the end of that chapter of your life and is by no means the end of your story. So in this episode, I will be sharing my experiences with job loss and bouncing back from it. I’ll also share some additional tips to help you through this transitional stage. Finally, if you are currently in this transitional period yourself, always remember that better opportunities are available and will cross your path, it is your job to be positive, persistent, and to maintain hope until they do.

I get you. Everyone telling me "man you're not a failure" but getting 4-5 rejections from different companies every week somehow speak louder.

Honestly, I feel a lot worst after watching this video. Let me put it this way, your job is not your whole identity but out of 24 hours it is your 12 hours, so if you care about the service you provide you it is half of your identity at the moment. You are talking about multiple income streams to people who might are anxious that they will not make rent this or next month? Positivity to counter anxiety? In order to be realistically positive there has to be a clear path, a true solution, not a thousand maybes and factors which will definitely lead you to failure. I strongly disagree that being positive before the solution helps. Also there a massive emotional cost staying positive with your analytical brain working to protect you and those you care about from suffering again. If you try it and it doesn't work or if it works and the routine that works is a living nightmare (so it doesn't) the emotional cost and weight of being unrealistically positive will inevitably bring you to your knees. You might say to someone to get help if feels that way, question who will play for a decade that someone needs constant help, or is help for free and I am unaware? This is a feel good video for people who actually can do something but they are over or under thinking it and it might help them focus. But is far from helpful for people with real unemployment issues. I truly hope you rename it and fast

Unemployment anxiety? Just work more jobs. Geeze, why didn't *I* think of that?!
