    WHAT A GREAT VIDEO! Thanks so much for sharing. I have been using 20-10-20 and I am not sure when to switch over to the 15-5-30. Would you have an idea of what week the mum will start showing buds.. What would happen if I start fertilizing with the 15-5-30 to early. I am definitely purchasing from you in the future. I wish I saw this earlier. Thank you again.

    Our grower recommends switching to the 15-5-30 once you see the tiniest bud form or about 3 weeks prior to their expected bloom period, which ever is first.

    Your video was very helpful I'm working on getting everything ready to start growing mums next year my question is on the drip irrigation system how long do you let it run on the mums to get correct amounts of water and fertilizer?

    You'll want to give them enough time so that the water is running through the bottom of the pot. Let the plants do the talking. Once it gets larger you will likely want to water twice a day.

    Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! Does growing these in a greenhouse help hurt or neither?

    Hey Matthew, great question! Mums love full sun, so growers with a glass greenhouse that can receive the full sun may be able to grow their mums indoors without issue. However, as far as we know, growers with plastic covered greenhouses don't see a lot of luck with this crop. There are a lot of problems with stretching in a plastic covered greenhouse.

    We are from central Illinois and the majority of our pumpkin sells are from mid September to mid October. So according to you video we should be looking at mums to bloom in mid September to early October? We would like to place an order once. So if we place an order for mums with mid September bloom and mid October bloom and plant at same time the mid October bloom would just be a bigger plant at it's bloom stage? Are we thinking on the right track about that? Wonderful video thank for your help.

    I'm so sorry for the delay in response. I hope your question was answered via chat or over the phone. But to answer this question for anyone else, yes. If you would like to place one order (which is usually most cost effective) then your later bloomers would just have more time to grow so they might be a bit bigger!

    Thanks for the info. Gearing up to open my nursery/garden shop next year. When is the optimal time to order with you for the next year?

  • @northcarolinafarms3592

    @northcarolinafarms3592

    2 жыл бұрын

    Great question! Now is actually the optimal time. We heavily enourage pre-orders. Pre-ordering ensures that we will account for your order when planning production -- and your plants will be ready when you need them. You can choose any ship date you want, and you won't be charged for the plants until your order ships.

    So sorry for the delay in response! There isn't a specific brand that we love, but we recommend using a well-balanced fertilizer that is 20-10-20 or similar.

    Yellowing typically suggests that they want more fertilizer. When the mums are well established they should be fertilized once a day.

    Hey Patricia, here is a link to our blog if you would prefer to read this information. www.ncfarmsinc.com/articles/everything-you-need-to-know-about-garden-mums/ Our video does go into more detail than the blog. This video was created for businesses who haven't grown mums before that want to increase their fall sales with a new product, so we did spend extra time on information we thought would be helpful. If you prefer to read blogs rather than watch videos, here is a link to the blog section of our website. We publish new blogs bi-weekly. www.ncfarmsinc.com/articles/
