Prune in spring time , if you take before this removes the branches reserves that will keep it alive in the cold

I found that honey bees pollenate feojoas, woke up one morning, their where bees all over the flowers, got 90% feojoas that year, incredible good, the size of fruit increase

Of these three, I'd say that Apollo is the sweetest. There are a couple of other varieties Kaiteri and Kakariki that are nice and sweet as well ^Meg

My feijoas in Western Australia fruits become the size of a finger and then fall off. Too hot?

Too dry probably. They need water to fill out the fruit. People are growing them fine in California (when watering them) so you should be ok. Good luck.

Feijoas are pretty hardy and can be grown in most soils. However, they do prefer a sunny, well-drained position in the garden. They are generally frost hardy and will handle temperatures as low as -8 to -10 degrees once established. ^Nathan

Hey Bernie, feijoas prefer slightly acidic soils with a pH of 6.0-6.5. High pH, alkaline conditions can cause stunted growth and leaf yellowing. I hope this helps mate! ^James

You don't need any of that bagged stuff except the tree. Mulch with your own compost and mulch. Make your own stakes. Spend the money you save on more trees.

Jadam organic farming is the way to go also free. I laugh my head off watching people buying all this commercial shit to grow food not as good as nature and you pay $$ for it lol

In all honesty. Their is enough Feijoa trees around as for when Feijoa season comes it's just a complete Onslaught of neighbours offering at least 1 to 3 bags full of them.
