    Great video! Not too long, gets concept across. It's an idea for self defense. Even if everyone doesn't train BJJ or MMA they atleast watch it. And everyone always talk fighting of one kind or another.

    @brytonlaw Remember WC puts a huge emphasis on structure for its strength, when your on your back or knees or any position other than the specific WC stance, your not likely to get that power from the trad. WC CP. I had the same idea, tried it on a partner, it failed as anything other than an annoyance. Maybe it could be modified to work better, but really you want to maximise your biomechanical advantage in such a position, i.e. summation of forces, I'm talking torque, swing for the fences :)

    Sry, dont really get your point. You might have forgotten that the grappler would a) be aware of the threat and thus eliminating e.g. most of the eye-poking threats, b) in case of the biting- which cant be fully prevented- would work through the pain and just finish the submission. [speaking of really "open" rules: the winner could then be allowed to break each and every bone of the submitted guy and piss in his face for biting/trying to eyepoke] c) use all the mentioned techniques by HIMSELF.

  • @deadmoopig
    @deadmoopig10 жыл бұрын

    Because the guy on top has a far better chance of poking the bottom guy's out, while having an easier defense as he can more his head far more.

  • @jfsfrnd

    No. I was referring to the George Zimmerman case in which ''John'' claimed that Trayvon was using MMA on Zim. Why couldn't Zim cheat and poke Trayvons eyes out?

  • @MadOrkest
    @MadOrkest11 жыл бұрын

    You have to also keep in mind that MMA is a sport, not combatives. In a real-world scenario, what you mentioned is perfectly fine because you are fighting, potentially, for your life. In MMA, they're trying to eliminate potentially lethal or "unsporting" injuries. It's just a matter of context.

    Unrealistic, the guy under could easily grab the neck of his opponent with his free hand, so he can block the next strike with his shin, grabbing his arm and going for a triangle choke...

    For the same reason the top guy can't poke the bottom guys eyes out. Would you rather be the top guy who is poking an eye out or the bottom guy poking an eye out? Why do all you dungeon masters....er I mean self-defense guys think only you can eye poke?

    And let's remember the words of our Lord and Saviour. Sport is sport. NEVER use techniques like this outside a Ring except in some (God forbid, Lord have Mercy) potential cases to protect the weak and defenseless. ALWAYS walk away if there are no innocents present. And / Or preferably call First Response if someone needs a bracelet party, assuming you're in, idk, a place of Good Will. Even if you don't care about others, these techniques in (God forbid) the street can get you an easy 10-20 years if shit goes sideways. Peace.

    Real-world fights and sports are WAY different. I'm not taking anything away from those in MMA, they're tough as hell. But regardless, it IS a sport. Therefore, there are rules. Why are there rules? Because certain things used to escape certain situations are potentially lethal or could cause permanent injury. Yes what they do is also potentially lethal and can cause permanent injury, but it's not like a knife or digging your thumbs as deep into your opponent's eyes as possible. It's context.

  • @alexd9999999
    @alexd999999911 жыл бұрын

    The MMA rules are pretty pro-grappler. All the effective techniques for escaping/causing critical damage against that form of assault are illegal; like elbows to top of skull, attacks to soft spots (eyes, ears, nose, mouth, groin, small joints), and biting/pinching.
