Do you mean 2*(-3)^x? If so, then no, you can't graph that. The base has to be positive.

the 3 refers to the graph also passing through the point (1,3).

None of these three graphs presented pass through the point (1,3).

@@chessandmathguy Thank you, really sorry. I meant (1,6). the 6 comes from 3^1 = 3, then 3*2 = 6. I confused myself because the graph of e^x passes through the points (0,1) and (1,e). But that is just plain e^x. If the graph were 2e^x, then it would pass through (0,2) and (1, 2e).

So increasing when its 3^x and decreasing if its 3^-x

Im sure that guy knows a lot more about math than me but this seems wrong The 2 being the intercept would be if there was a +2 wouldn’t it? I mean if x=0 Then 3x=0 And 2*3x=0 So y would be 0 Or am I missing something?

f(x)=2•3^x x=0, then y= 2•3=6! I think he made a mistake there. The point shouldn’t be 2, but 6!
