How to glide like Cinderella on your Classic cross country skis

This will help your glide be smooth and long with a little practice. This ski lesson will be best for intermediate level Classic skiers who can glide on one leg but struggle with a slapping sound.

Best explanation I've seen yet on correcting slapping. I've had a lot of instructors give various and confusing advice. This one hits it on the head !

I worked with Mike one winter at The Summit at Snoqualmie as an instructor, and I learned a great deal from him about being an instructor. He is legit. I'd recommend him to anyone wanting to learn how to enjoy Nordic skiing.

Yep, it helps keeping light on skis, improves weight transfer and extend glide. An alternative to "slipper slipper, slipper" is possibly "landing on the ball of your feet". I will test the comparison soon, ie. the Konig Ludwig ski marathon race. There are more steps further such as the double bounce glide as per the Scandanavian style (many seen at last week's Marcialonga), and the Marilyn Munroe hip follow around "hip swing". And always looking to where you want to be rather than down at the ski.

Below 28°F, I use waxable classic skis. I don't like working with Kristen, so above 28°, I am usually on fixed skin skis. For teaching, Solomon SLab are my preferred ski skis
