Just an idea, but you should incorporate a GoPro camera attached to your helmet to show another perspective of what youre trying to demonstrate. Itd be nice to have another angle to cut to or maybe have a little picture-in-picture thing in the corner of the screen of the player POV of what youre doing.
Well done, keep em coming J and your buddy is very well spoken as well.
Thanks Jeremy! Your videos are very helpful. I started to play hockey in the winter of 2014-15. Your advice is helping learn simple things I can do to improve my game. I've been just playing stick and puck in the park near my house in the Moscow region during the winter. I'm going to save up and by some gear this summer.
So educational thank you! It is always good to come back to the basics, and this video is excellent at touching all the ground rules and even throws in some little side tips too! Thanks!
This is quality stuff guys! I led my team in scoring last season thanks to you!
Thanks so much I love your videos they help me a lot
Jeremy, I wanna tell you that your videos are awesome. I feel like after watching your stickhandling and wrist shot videos, I've gotten sooo much better. Do you think you could put a video up on how to stop in roller hockey?
these videos are all phenomenal. Keep up the great work
Great job on the videos, Jeremy! I started learning to play hockey in January this year so I can find an alternative to skateboarding during the winter, and lately I've been really trying to push my game so I can eventually get into some sort of minor league. The skating has come more naturally to me, but the hockey stuff has been more of a challenge. But, with some of the tips you've been giving in these videos, I've started to improve a lot faster. Just wanted to let you know I appreciate the videos. Thanks!
Great videos guys. Keep 'em coming. Thanks for posting.
Thank you so much! I've had a dreadful time receiving passes in a game, particularly when it is not on the tape or catching it on the backhand...now I know why and what to work on!
You guys rock! Thanks for posting.
Great stuff. Thanks Coach J.
Thanks for the Great tips keep it up!! Learned a lot!
Just what I was looking for. Thanks.

For people like myself living in the UK these videos are good. Obviously we've not much snow, the sport isn't very big and to we often have to play inline instead of ice hockey. Keep them up!
Great tips
@CanadianForc3z We shot a one-timer video a few days ago, just working on editing it and putting an article together
Thanks guys! Very helpfull lession as usual. I wanted to ask if you could create some kind of instruction that would tell how to analyse recent mistakes made when performing a snapshot? I mean I have a camera and tripod and I don't have anyone to watch me making a snapshot (I really suck in this, unfortunately). So anyone in a situation like mine could make a record of him or herself on a camera, photo-camera or even cellphone and with your help analyse his (or hers) mistakes. Thnx again.
@FartingNfalling That's what I mean in the article when I say that sometimes you just need to slow it down. It is still good to learn the craddle method first though.
can u make a video on shoot out moves? i feel that i always do the same 1 or 2 moves that generally dont work that well
I was wondering if you could give me a few tips cause i cant really find anything online about this. I'm a decent skater but when I get the puck my speed just dives. have any tips for accelerating and skating with the puck? Thanks love the vids
@HamsterCatLionn When it comes to skates, It's all about skill level. higher level skates will help, to some extent, if you've been playing/skating for a while, I would consider upgrading to something along the lines of the One80.
@SuperJSL123 I have the One100's basically the same skate but a bit cheaper. I love them, way better than my last skates
@WhatTheFlyinFudge It sucks right now! well for pond hockey in toronto were having a mild winter and no ponds are frozen or community outdoor rinks
@howtohockeydotcom thanks alot ill watch it when i get a chance and ill tell you guys if im still having a problem

@howtohockeydotcom what were ur last skates?
I don't even play and I enjoy these videos!
Great teaching! Although I was always taught to "accept" a pass. ;-)
@TheDrecooo Yes you should play, I'm 28 and just started this year, it is hard for me, but I'm getting better, at your age you'll improve a lot.
@howtohockeydotcom Thanks, are you guys in canada
so if I wanna get the puck to one of the players on my team I should pass it to them??
Are you still active on this channel? And you should do a video of how to use skates on dekes and stuff like that :) Btw, is there more Rightys that Leftys in Canada? Here in Finland, most of the people use left. I'm righty myself. Love your vids, keep up the good work!
@HamsterCatLionn I twist my wrist when i hold BAUER VAPOR X:20 it freaking heavy

@HamsterCatLionn There is a "how hockey stop" video. Search their channel.
Make a video about how to properly shoot on the ice, I've been playing hockey for about 5 years now and I just cant quite get the hang of it, could you give me some on ice help ?
@MiniHockeySniper99 search for "how to block a shot in hockey" it's the #1 video with 11 000 views

do u get total one skates?
@HamsterCatLionn There good skates but there not like top of the line. But there still very good skates. The best skates are usually up to 800 dollars or more. An example would be the total ones but youve got a good pair if youve just started skating or playing hockey
💓
I have a bad habit of making the puck fly when I pass, this happened when I learned to shoot. Is there any way to remedy this
@miera1029 English word is forward
Bauer Supreme One20s are what I would call average or entry level skates. Having said that, I'm a firm believer that your ability on the ice is about 90% skill and 10% gear. I use Bauer Supreme 1000s that are about 10-15 years old and work just fine.
These videos make me wish I lived in Canada. Over twice the number of rinks, and tons more ice time up there. {:^ /
how do you catch a puck that is behind you?
I'm interested into trying out hockey. However, I have only ever skated on the ice twice. I'm 19, but I've played plenty of other competitive sports. Would Rec leagues or hockey clubs want me?

Daniel Smith I would figure out public skating times at your local rink to practice skating before joining a team.

Daniel Smith Well you're never to old for starting playing hockey! You just need to practice a lot, you don't need to play in the NHL to have fun! ;) I've started last year by my local hockey club with 18, we are only one team with 25 guys. Buy Inline-Skates an go riding every day it will help you very much! Sry 4 my bad english, greetings from Germany! ;D

I am 18 and just picked it up. I play in a student league which really helps because almost have the team hasn't skates before and is just learning. So I would say that if you are committed you pick up skating in about a season (atleast the basics you won't be a pro) so just put in the effort and go for it.
practiced this on ice today
are you in america?
I feel like i have better control as a lefty, but more power as a righty.
Hey I'm 14 years old kid from Finland. I have played hockey for 1 year when i was like 8 years. Should I be good if I would continue now? I'm little overweight but is that a problem?

@HamsterCatLionn These skates are for skating not really for hockey. If you get hit in the side of your foot it hurts like hell.
hi
i wear 8 too
@outlandor13 We have a plethora of shooting videos. Slapshot, wristshot, snapshot, back hand, you name it, we got it. They range from the basic "how to" to shooting while skating, etc. check out our channel.
@HamsterCatLionn check our channel or just search how to hockey stop on youtube. Our video is one of the most watched
First time I tried the boards pass I hit it
How about sending and receiving passes when someone is directly behind/in front of you? Always kind of an awkward situation, and never knew if there was a correct way to do it.
@Thetacooflegend

You have to talk to them (or yell). I usually yell "drop" so they are ready.

If you are ahead of someone and he is the same line as you are skating to, dont pass it directly to him use the board

One thing my coach taught me is to NOT treat a receiving puck like an egg. Cause if your hands are soft and you cradle it back youre letting the puck play u instead of you playing the puck. He says "crack that egg" ... have your blade slightly supped forward but good hand positioning and strong hands when receiving a pass.
How about a slap pass?
My idiot friend who i go to shinny every week hasn't told me any of this, great tips, guys.
cant you just do an slow slapshot?
take a boxing class for that. that is what i did and it work just fine you learn the foot work and how to properly punch :)
u the great 8?
U don't roll ur wrist over
