Depending on how long someone has been in this sport or business depends on how you get booked. As a new or green guy or girl yes you bust your ass doing anything you can to get your foot in that door. Also is why they say as a worker you never go to a show without your gear because you never know what may happen… go ahead set up chairs set the ring up do whatever you need to do so that the correct person sees you doing it…
All you have to do is show up and have respect. Providing you have training
