How To Get Your Shit Together and Take Back Control

Ойын-сауық

Talking points: gratitude, fitness, social media, mindset
If you knew me in my 20s, you would NOT have expected much of me. I was aimless, hated myself, and was not coping well at all. And I'll won't mince words, it was a long, bumpy road to where I am now.
But these 8 practices didn't just help, they radically changed my life. Seriously. This is the mini-episode for you if you're feeling stuck or frustrated with where you're at in life.
(00:00:00) - Intro and where I started
(00:07:03) - Create an internal environment of appreciation and gratitude
(00:11:31) - Use your body. Really. Use. Your. Body.
(00:16:17) - Meditate or journal every single day. One or the other
(00:21:46) - Consume better content
(00:26:30) - Replace coping mechanisms with generative habits
(00:27:59) - Work on your purpose, mission, or business every single day
(00:30:02) - Don’t know your purpose? Let your quest to find it BE the purpose
(00:32:45) - Start to socialize with more people outside your comfort zone

I’m 23 years old and I’m my own worst enemy. This is exactly what I needed to hear. Nothing I’ve done has ever felt quite good enough, and I won’t even take action to change that. I’ve been binge watching self help content for far too long to know I don’t want to continue living the life I’m living. This is the first video that really resonated with me and I’m not even fully sure why that is. I’ve never even commented on a video, but felt compelled to do so now. Just typing this makes me feel a little insane, but also a little excited that I’m actually doing something that isn’t just laying down and watching. I’m going to practice these 8 recommendations starting now. Thank you so much for your wisdom.

I think the consuming better content is such a game changer for me. Personally, I’ve endlessly watched just brain rot content on instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, etc. to control those aspects and consume what’s better for myself, drastically changes your life and how you see things; seriously

I went down the fresh and fit rabbit hole for the last three years. I was in a 10 year relationship and slowly I began to believe all aspects of “the red pill” which essentially is an echo chamber of talking points of disaffected men. My relationship suffered as a result as I began to look at my own significant other differently than I did before.

So many gems in this. Thank you. I totally agree that it’s very attractive to others when a man isn’t all socially awkward/avoidant and is actually capable of having convo with many kinds of people. Don’t go overboard and be a schmoozer that tells people what they want to hear, but at least read and expose yourself to a variety of life adventures so you HAVE SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT.

Thank you for your discussion on sense of purpose. I recently had some major changes of life circumstance that left me realizing how reactive and aimless I have been. I struggled to find any long term goals or sense of purpose, but I have been putting a lot of effort into consciously choosing to improve myself. was incredibly validating to hear someone recognize that level of self improvement as being a purpose in and of itself.

Great video. Really made me think. Inspired me to think about the content I'm taking in mindlessly throughout the day and to revisit some of those choices. My first step, retrain the KZread algorithm to not recommend content which, although entertaining, is not feeding my soul. And is sometimes toxic. Next step, write down some goals with steps I can take daily to work towards them. Thanks for your content.

On the subject of dating/RP channels a lot of them are perpetuating the bad stuff that happens in relationships by being part of the problematic behavior on the male side and not living by the principles they preach. Take for example the Whatever Podcast. If you look on their clips channel Brian called Madyson “babe” (the helmet girl) when she was getting him water. The way she was looking at him when he was talking about how he styles his hair was really sus as well. The video is called “Brian Challenges Them to REMOVE Their Makeup!” and the interesting part starts at 5:10 in that video. If there’s anything going on between Brian and Madyson (she’s married) it really makes everything Brian says about loyalty and dating principles a moot point

Meditation is nonsense. Talking with yourself is insane. Instead, talk to Jesus. This way you have an upper bro who you can hand over all your worries. Men need someone you can open up to when you have no one or are not comfortable to. And faith gives your life that calmness to face the daily stress.

@@trash3570 When matters are that bad that you can not get yourself out, and you call for help and find healing in gods love it is completely sane. When you build up your broken self with values from the the bible to make you a human being again it is completely sane. But when life hits you, and it will certainly at some time, where are you gonna go? Where will that place of love, hope be, if you have no faith? What is gonna pull yo out off sinking deeper and deeper in chaos? Believers have the best coping mechanism against chaos.

As a fellow lover of God, I encourage you to look into the large-and-continuously-growing body of legitimate psychological research about the proven benefits of meditation 🤝 of course I don’t know you or how you do it, but the way you talk with Jesus (and most acts of prayer, really) is almost certainly a form of meditation.

I chat to or mediate - to think deeply about Holy Spirit and He directs my path. Thinking deep with breathing meditation is helpful but being led by God is my life. It is wonderful to have a friend in Jesus. I will die one day and go to hell or heaven I am not worried I am good friends with the judge and Jesus paid for all my stupid and gave me his perfect record, very cool.
