You included more important and pertinent information into this short video than others with much lengthier ones...good for you. Salt works well - sticks to and tears fleas up; low bowls with soapy water catches and kills fleas; and, lemon juice spray, 1:3 mixture, repels fleas. I'm a veterinary technician who recently had the 'first' flea infestation this past spring in the twenty-five years on the job.

After over a month of infestation tried everything I’ve seen on KZread one thing caught my eye when I came back from out of town everything had gotten out of hand again. I pulled out my little shark steamer... hands and knees steaming the carpet, tile and hardwoods...it’s amazing, I’ve seen one or two since! I’ve done the whole house pretty big house, then vacuumed twice once before, then steamed, then again like I said it’s amazing they’re gone!!!!!! 😃

The most effective treatment I’ve discovered was this: first treat the outside of your home. Next, treat your pet, I had great success with comfortis. Then, vacuum and apply a product called precore 2000 plus. Vacuum again and spray hot spots in 3 days. Continue vacuuming at least twice a week and on day 14 vacuum again and reapply the spray as you did the first time. That did the trick for me in a mighty way. It’s a tough war, a long and involved process, but you CAN do it. I was able to do this in spite of a very serious knee injury that doesn’t allow me to bend at the knees. So I know you can do it too. Nothing is impossible, some things are just less possible than others.

Diatomaceous Earth in the corners, on the carpet, rubbed into the mattress. 1/2 coconut oil and 1/2 cedarwood oil rubbed onto the pet once a week, vaccum daily (even wood or tile floors). It's 2021, and the fleas in Michigan are insidious. The fabric sprays do work under cushions and under the bed, closet floors, and edges of thresholds around doors. Just some ideas. Thanks for a great video, God bless. :)

Not your cat's fault! You should use a flea comb on the poor thing and dunk it in a clear container with some Ivory or Dawn dish soap...after each pass with the flea comb. Make sure to keep the comb under the water while removing all fleas, before combing again. Don't do this too close to the top of the soapy water and don't fill the container too close to the top...try to leave a couple of inches...so they don't jump right back out....on the suds when you 1st fill it! The soap kills the fleas. It also breaks the surface tension of the water so that they sink. Hope this helps. You might want to speak with a vet to obtain information about the best product to put on your animal. Just call and ask for info...explain your cat's situation. But 1st comb it with the flea comb, as I explained. When you do your laundry...everything should be washed with the hottest water and dried on the hottest setting, to kill all flea eggs!

I rescued a kitten about a month ago, she had come with fleas. I have tried multiple dawn dish soap baths, after reading they die in the dish soap. I have combed almost daily for about 3 weeks. Still combing fleas, doesn't feel like its making a differance. Of course that's with daily vaccumingof thewhole house inside and all around the couch, behind and under everything. Everywhere she hangs out triple cleaned.Even got a vingager based house cleaner. I try to stay on top of it and I am constantly trying to get her to sit still and let me comb her since she hates the comb. Now she associates me with with negative things like bath and combing. Its not always so simple and its extremly frusterating. I have ordered flea medication that was vet reccomned that comes in a pill. Of course Florida is having hurricane so shipments are delayed. Its a very complex frusterating issue.

We just bought a house & a month later we have an infestation. This is even after a professional cleaning before moving in. I’m assuming they came from the yard - we have cats & let them roam out back for the first time a week ago & here we are. They’re house cats & I wish I’d never let them go outside. We got them some Comfortis tablets that helped kill them at first - but a few days later we’re still finding fleas. 😭 live, jumping ones. Not just the half dead, crawling ones. We’ve deep cleaned the house, salted the floors, & used organic spray and DRENCHED our house. We’ve also bathed our cats with dawn dish soap & comb them daily. I REALLY don’t want to resort to toxic pesticides, as I don’t have anywhere to take my cats while the house sits. 😭 I’m getting bit as I type this. I’ve covered myself with bug spray. I’m going crazy. I can’t do this anymore.

EntirelyPets I’m still finding fleas here & there after a professional came & treated my house last week. I understand they have a life cycle. Do you think the ones I’m finding are from last week, just hatched? Whatever they used had a growth inhibitor. The fleas I’m finding are mostly half dead, jittering. I’m finding 6-10 dead fleas a day, where my cats lie & on them when I comb their fur. I’ve found 2-3 jumping fleas this past week (since the pro treatment). I had up to 60 bites on my body last week & the week prior. I now have maybe 2-3. Does this sound like I’m on the right track? I’m continuously cleaning, throwing out the vacuum bag each time I use it, and always doing laundry. Or do you think I should have the pest control come back?

Problem is getting better, for my cat I used Sentry Purrscription Plus shampoo from local pet supply store, supposed to be good for 30 days but I bathed her again about a week or so later, was a precaution I was trying to take in case the first wasn't sufficient, no regrets but didn't notice any new fleas, had been worried about what I couldn't see. About a week after second shampoo bought flea drops ( a brand that was an equivalent to Advantage, so good but less $) from pet supply store, I had used the cheaper drops before from a regular store before the flea issue so obviously hadn't worked. The green Hot Shot foggers worked ok (only kills adult fleas) but purple cans for 'bedbugs and fleas' worked much better (purple one kills flea larvae too, not just adult fleas, per label). I did repeat purple foggers again 6-7 days later but also used a spray (in a larger size container than at a regular store) from hardware store to spray under and in between any creases, cushions, or areas in my couch and chairs that the foggers might not have reached. Doing clothes and blankets in hot water seemed to kill fleas and then putting clothes and clean laundry in one of the few unaffected rooms. All of this has still been frustrating but these are some of the experiments that have seemed to help.

Wet puppy (mine is 6weeks) with warm water I placed her on a white hand towel in sink so I could see the progress. Massage a good lather for about 10 minutes. The fleas just fell off I couldn't believe it. Now I had tried it without vinegar prior with lots less results. You must RINSE, RINSE,RINSE & RINSE again. Because the process takes all oils from puppies skin uf to dont. 3 baths later she is close to flea free. Now doing it 2 x a week. This removed hundreds of fleas for me. Good luck.

I tried equal parts of apple cider vinegar and bottled lemon juice. I then added about 5 squirts of Dawn. Then I put enough warm water to dilute the mixture. Put my cat in the tub and splashed the solution by my handful and massage/scratched it down in her fur. I didn’t rinse it off and she was a thousand times better. She was so miserable before and would run every where she went like something was chasing her and chewing her back side like crazy. We just couldn’t watch her being so miserable so I just took matters into my own hands and I am so glad I did. She is back to being herself again.

+Mrs. Tacowaffles There are lots of resources you can find online. Washing alone will not kill the fleas. Natural or chemical solutions should be utilized. Getting rid of fleas is also a long and sometimes arduous process. You will want to create a plan (usually involving cleaning and spraying or using powders or bombs) and repeat every week for a couple of weeks. Hope this helps; you can find more details here: www.entirelypets.com/faqabfl.html as well as other places online.

Decided the best thing was to get my cat out of the area so I bought capstar & used topical for him & took him to my sisters for the week, he’s looking tons better but still been such a ride here though I am having some progress as I assume the adults are dying off with just me to feed on I still feel them crawling all over in bed. Used adams home spray today, looks similar to the video, might get the nozzle spray as well as I’ve noticed the chemicals are different. I almost wonder if it’s even safe to take him back for fear I’ll be back to square one & he’ll be suffering again. :( pray for us, icing on the cake for another hard year.

Dont always blame others who are also victims of this blood sucking menace. Share your experience to new pet owners. Offer suggestions and don't be so holier then thou. I had to find a good flea medication to treat my animals. Treated my house and my car. My dogs go with me everywhere. I used foggers for the inside of the house but they weren't killing the eggs. Make sure the products kill all life stages. Treat all areas your animals use. Wash everything. Want to add another thing- their diet. Change their food. I found kibble with salmon as opposed to chicken, beef or lamb. I took the cat off of it and he got infested with fleas again. He's an indoor cat but escaped for a few minutes. I bought cheaper flea medicine. Changing his food again. Coconut oil helped relieve the itching and got rid of the skin rash. I had to treat the cat a few times.

I bought a steam machine and passed it everywhere especially in the crack floors and carpets. Results did not wait to manifest. After one or two heat treatments, fleas at every stage of growth disappeared completely. And they never returned so far. If so I will know what to do. For the pets I used a product sold by veterinarians.

@@aidabalme I cannot tell the exact amount of times I had to steam before getting rid of fleas for good. Maybe 2, maybe 3, maybe 4. But it worked. Of course, you cannot steam your cat or dog and you have to rely somewhat on chemical like Advantage or Revolution. On vet counceling. To know where to priorize you can use the candle (or night light) and soapy water trick to discover where are the fleas in larger amounts. Fleas have a tendency to be more numerous in some places like carpets. Place a night light on every electrical plug of your house with a bowl of soapy water and fleas with drown in it. This will not eliminate fleas completely but you will be able to localize where the fleas are numerous. And treat these places first. Once you have sanitized a room, close the door and do not allow your pets in this room until your home is entirely OK.. In floor cracks, under, in spaces between modings and floors. Steaming has worked well for me and I have not seen any fleas for years. Sorry if this does not work so well for you. Good luck.

Our neighbor gave us a little puppy about a week ago and We had him in the house and my brother noticed that he was scratching and he checked him and found a flea so my husband took him a bath and found three fleas. I decided to wash everything in hot water and I vacuum every day. And now when my body itches I feel like it's a flea bite. I know it might just be in my head but that's why I wanted to know how do I know for sure if there in my home? Sorry if I am not making sense at all. But I wanted to know because I have little ones and if the smell of either of these sprays are not harmful?

my dog is on monthly Comfortis tablets, my cat on monthly AdvantageII and i seen a few fleas on my dog when I was rubbing her belly. How would this affect my cat? My entire apartment is carpet (except kitchen and bathroom) and since we are on the second floor I can't always vacuum. another problem is that my vacuum doesn't use vacuum bags, so how do I get rid of eggs when I can't really throw them away like that? Also I'm aware that only 5% of the fleas are actually on the pet and I have removed 5 dead ones so far (probably because of the Comfortis that killed them Ha!). before we had this dog, our cat had a very bad flea infestation. it was so bad you could see them crawling around his face because the apartment we lived in didn't have pest control. we moved since then and the new complex charges $40 a month for pest control and our cat's infestation was nonexistent after that (though we did see a few every now and then for about a month) and now that our dog (that we got two weeks ago) had them I am worried we still had fleas and that she got them from the cat. We can't really afford any flea treatments other than the cat's spot on AdvantageII and the Comfortis Tablets (which are free since her foster works at the vet). I don't think it's a bad infestation, when our cat had them I kept finding them on my arm and in my bed and it was just really nerve wrecking. Our dog seems fine otherwise, most of her scratching is actually from mosquito bites. I'm just nervous because I don't know how many fleas there are and since we live in Austin Texas, there is a huge flea population and I don't know how to keep my pets from getting them again and again. Cat is indoor so he isn't really the source, but I walk my dog a lot so i don't know how to keep them from jumping on her in the first place. just the thought makes me itchy. she mostly sleeps in my room in the corner with my dirty laundry because my scent is probably the strongest there, but I haven't seen any fleas on me. my main fear is that we never actually got rid of the fleas. The last one I seen (and killed with hamd sanitizer) was about a month and a half ago since then i have seen NONE and my cat seems fine but I don't know. I'm only a teenager and my mom refuses to believe that the dog has fleas and doesn't buy the sprays or anything

Aaw i underdtand that fear well i d move if possible if that area really is always THAT flea infested The things you give to your pats will definitely help to kill most of the since they wont live after they bite your pets :) just vacuum every day also the cussions and everything you can hot was on at least a 60 degree cycle you wash it if you cant wash it hot you can maybe put it in the bathtub and let it soak in boiling water for a minute then wash in the machine on a 30 or 40 degree cycle ooor you just simply iron your stuff since the heat will definitely kill all stages. Things that cant be washed at all need to go in the freezer for a few days or a week and thats it :)
