Great info, I'm experiencing this horrible issue right now. My new home had water leak (dry out has taken place) and in the process I had an electrician change my panel and boom, the stench is here. I am using the ion fan, arm and hammer moisture & order absorbed. I even went and bought moth balls and mice deterrents. I cleaned the wall with vacuuming the area, spraying clorox, and then kilz. I am still trying everything and anything to get rid of the smell. Ugh.

Tell your insurance co. ASAP b4 they won't cover it. If the remediation was done correctly, there should be no more odor. It's a serious health hazard if fungus is growing inside the walls. Don't believe their moisture meters It's an easy way trying to get out of full repair. Get 2nd opinion. Happened to us.

on amazon I found Smelleze, for dead animal stench. Hopefully this stench will disapears before the my i get my order !

Try using activated charcoal bags. They have them on amazon.

I had my sister in-law leave with me for a year and in her room it smells like a dead animal just in her room I hate it

I just had about 6 dead rats in my shed. Rubbish just kept piling up and they made it their home and died after chucking some poison in there. Thankfully it’s all clear now so the smell should go soon haha

Nothing will take away the smell of a dead rat absolutely nothing. I put some poison blocks under the floorboards. The rats died. I don't know how many there are but 5 months later the smell is still there although it has subsided 85%. I did find a large hole where the power cables come into the house, that has been filled. I also have a rat blocker in the waste pipe. The local council checked the waste pipes all ok. Mice can get into a 10mm hole and rats can get into a 13 mm hole. The smell is still here but I reckon it will take another 8 weeks for the smell to go. These people who say the smell lasts for two weeks are talking nonsense. The smell I reckon can last up to 7 to 8 months that's if you haven't been able to locate the rats. If you can locate the dead bodies then I think you should be ok within 6 weeks max. The smell will be prolonged by a cold winter until the weather warms up a bit which allows the rat bodies to decompose quicker.
