Awesome video thank you!!! I don't understand why people say mice and rats smell bad. I use Aspen bedding and clean once a week and there pretty much no smell except a day or two before cleaning.

Sometimes the more you clean the faster they mark(pee) to be familiar with their surroundings. If you use the kiln dried pine it will help lengthen the amount of days between. Also sometimes can help to put a handful of old bedding in with the new so it has familiar smells and they dont feel the need to do extra territory marking.

Thanks for the tips with the air purifier. I have pet rats so its not much of an issue on a lot of smell from them but i also have ferrets and it will help with the extra odor in the litter box before i get to changing it twice a day. Yes ferrets are a lot of work but well worth it for the fun 🙂🐾

When I first got my rats at the beginning of the month I had them on Oxbow food, and their tubs smelled really bad. Ever since I started feeding Mazuri it has really cut down on the smell, and they seem to love it.

Do you notice any difference between Fir (with short needles)🌲 and Pine (with long needles) ? What do you think about shredded Hemp? I love that product, no dust what so ever, eliminates smells too! But a bit expensive. Otherwise you can get saw cuttings from leaf trees 🌳 since those don’t have any terpenoids in them.

My son snake refused to eat a 3 week old rat a few months ago. My husband and I fell for her and went out got her the double critter nation cage and a couple more feeder rat friends. They are 99% litter boxed trained and I change all the fleece and the two litter boxes every week. I do live in CO where can I pick up this pine bedding? Also my rats have seen a vet for URI's, lice and one with a pneumonia since I've gotten them a couple months ago(got them sick :(..). I'm currently using paper pellets and someone was telling me the baking soda in it is bad for rats.. My rats are extra sensitive and trying to find the right bedding and keep down on the smells since they are in my living room. I wash all their hammocks and beds weekly. I just don't know what else I can do. I feed them oxbow so don't think its the food.
