HOW TO GET LENSES BACK INTO FRAMES | Glasses hack to fix glasses and get lenses into plastic frames

How to get lenses back into frames? That was exactly the question I have been struggling with this week. I thought I had the excellent idea of buying lots of identical glasses frames with different lens strengths, allowing me to interchange lenses as I needed to. WRONG! In my video last week, you saw me discover that this wasn't as easy as I had thought - I could not for the life of me get the lenses back into the plastic frames! I tried inserting the lenses in all different ways; I tried heating the frames; I tried cooling the lenses... In the end, I found the way to make it work. Here it is! The one hack you need!

🤓 A little about my eyesight: 🤓
I have had glasses for astigmatism since I was 7 years old, but I only needed them for specific circumstances, like reading blackboards or night driving (not when I was 7, obviously).
At the age of 22 I landed an office job, and with my lovely new money I bought a smart phone. 6 months later, I had myopia (also known as short sightedness or near sightedness) and had to wear glasses full-time.
My prescription has been going up since then, and I have been freaking out as I sit back and watch my eyesight deteriorate, feeling helpless and scared.
I was up to -3 in my left eye, and -2.5 in my right eye when I discovered Jake Steiner and the EndMyopia method.
I am still only a few months in, but already I am seeing at almost -2.00 in my left eye -1.75 in my right eye. Small changes, but any improvement is amazing when my eyes have only been deteriorating for the last 10 years.
I am loving knowing more about eyesight and how eyes function. It's fascinating, and learning so much feels empowering. I love that I no longer feel helpless about my vision. I have also quit my smartphone so I could get over my screen addiction. I even bought a Nokia to get me out of temptation's way! Since doing this, I have been making progress with my vision, but also have regained so much of my life and time and perspective, so this vision journey is definitely having positive knock-on effects in my life as a whole.

👓 Using the reduced lens method, and need another pair of glasses?👓
Clearly are an online retailer, based in Australia - especially great for those of us based in Australia or NZ - and is available worldwide.
I use them for all my glasses in my EndMyopia journey, and they have been great.
I joined as an affiliate because I was already talking about them so much anyway. 😂 If you use this link to go to the Clearly website, it will help me out and cost you nothing more, so if you go this way, I thank you.

Hi Gemily, Some additional suggestions on "Cylinder", or Astigmatism, less than 2 Diopters. On any exam, state you do not want it! I measure my eyes that way. You can always get 20/20, from a Spherical Minus lens. Any good OD will comply with your request! This makes, "lens swapping", very simple. But you must keep track of the given eye you measure, using your own Test Lens Kit. As you start reading the 20/50 line, (naked eyes, both open) this issue does become more critical. Gemily - you are going to become a lens measuring expert on this fascinating scientific subject.

Luckily for me, I am not wearing astigmatism correction anymore. Good advice though. If only people came and found this information BEFORE going down that road. Unfortunately many don't look until it gets far enough along to scare them...

Hi Gemily! Glad to see that you got back the lenses in place, it seemed like a fun experiment 😁 How is your progress doing, when are you planning to make your next reduction? I would love to hear about your progress, as last time when you talked about your cm measurements, mine were exactly the same, and I am struggling a bit with the equalizing :D Wish you the bests! :)

Hi Gemily. Congratulations on getting the lenses into the clear glasses frame. When I’ve gone to the website of the place where you get your glasses from, there doesn’t seem to be clear frame glasses for men unless I haven’t searched through the entire range of frames that they have for men. This gives me something to do between now and your next video. Also finding active focus much easier to do regularly nowadays.

In the search bar, type "crystal". That should get you somewhere. Or you can go into the "filter" and select under Gender "men" and "unisex", and under colour "clear". And keep an eye out for those little circles under the pictures of the glasses that allow you to toggle between colour options. Sometimes the clear or "crystal" option is not the colour shown by default but is an option. And it doesn't always work, but if you are getting more than one pair, it is not a bad idea to just try putting "BOGO" in the discount code box and see whether it works. They have other discount codes too that they advertise on their website, and for a first time buyer they may be better... But 'buy one get one' is usually pretty good.

That may be true, Otie - I haven't noticed a problem with Clearly's frame selections - but the upside of clearly for us on the bottom half of the planet is that it's Australian. Shipping is better, and nice to keep those tax dollars in our own economy too. 😉

I switched out lenses to get 0.50 diopter difference between eyes. Well it looks like my eyes are about 0.33 to 0.35 different. My plan is to keep them where they are until March when we change our clocks by an hour and get more daylight in the evening. The days are already getting long right now. Anyway then I'll lower the weaker eye by 0.25. We'll see when I get there if I think this plan will still be a good idea and then if it will work if I do it.
