In this video we show you how to replace your lenses in hard plastic frame sunglasses.
Instructions:
- At home, prepare a bowl of hot tap water (about 140°F - not boiling) and soak the sunglasses for 30 seconds. Repeat this process for up to 5 minutes.
- Alternatively, you can heat the area using a hairdryer for short bursts of time, but be cautious using a hairdryer as you can melt the frames if too much heat is applied.
- After heating, look for the thinnest part of the frame and pinch it where there is the most flexibility. Then, pinch the lenses as close as you can to the same spot.
- Pull the frame away from the lens whilst pushing and twisting the lens away from you.
- To install your new lenses, turn the sunglasses to face you, as the lenses are being inserted from the front.
- Line up the edge of the lenses with the frame, inserting the lens arm side first. Then, use your thumb to work the lens into the nose area and gently pinch any remaining portion of the lens to secure.
- You will hear a clicking sound, indicating that your lens is in its place.
